Blech. Why did I bother with that?
Sorry
, Buffy fans, but I don't see what the big deal is about SMG. She's wooden and I didn't notice anything about her to suggest she has the charisma to carry a series.
And this series really needs an actor like that in the lead, because it's got nothing going for it, except some nice looking NYC locations I guess and was the redhead Mayim Balik? She was good anyway. The first half was painfully cheesy and then it just became a standard sort of thriller. The chase scene in the vacant loft was comical. The "evil Injun" character almost made me laugh out loud.
I was expecting more from Ioan Gruffydd. He might have been more interesting if he'd put more oomph into his role. Maybe he's still in love with the conniving bitch he unfortunately married, and could have put more of a push-pull type dynamic into his scenes with the fake Shiobhan so that they wouldn't have fallen so completely flat.
As for Bridget, a lead character needs to maintain audience sympathy and she lost mine when she made the deplorable decision not to tell Andrew that his wife was dead (and maybe even have sex with the guy under false pretenses - she sure wasn't acting like she'd have refused). Blech. Not cool. Even if she's "desperate," she still has the obligation to act like a fucking human being, okay? Explain the situation and enlist the guy's help in the deception. Anything else is repugnant.
Ringer gets okay ratings by CW standards.
PS I'm sure I'm spelling everyone's name wrong, especially Shiobhan

, but can't be bothered to look anything up for the sake of a lame series I've already bailed on.
hate to tell you, but as far as I can tell she says the name "Siobhán" the same way everyone else in the United States would say it. Definitely the same way that every Siobhán I have ever known has said it.
Yep, it's pronounced "Chevon" and generally for the sake of sanity spelled Chevon, Chevonne, Shevon, etc.
And because there's nothing worth talking about where the show is concerned, I'll go check
www.babynames.com out of random curiosity and look up the pronunciation, to whit:
Pronounced "Shih-VON" or "Shih-WAN."
"Shih-VON" has become dominant no doubt because it's simply prettier. Who would name their baby girl Shi-wan? Urgh.
New Fall Season: 0/2. Next up: the CW has a chance to redeem itself with
The Secret Circle.
