SMG to star in Buffy sequel series from Chloé Zhao

Nobody said she wasn't, just that it's unsurprising that she wouldn't direct more episodes herself.

For comparison, Rian Johnson created Poker Face and was one of its executive producers, but he only directed four of its 22 episodes (three in season 1, one in season 2) and wrote two (the season 1 premiere and finale).
Oh, I thought they were saying that they just hired her as the pilot's director just to get the show more attention.

I just saw her in a BBT rerun last night. That was nice.

I can't even imagine walking into a therapist's office only to find Faith sitting behind the desk.

if the new sequel via reboot does brings back faith it kinda looks like someone else will play as faith

since eliza is retired from the showbiz
Would be better just to not have Faith appear or reference her fate in a conversation than recast.

But just because someone is retired doesn't mean they might not return to a role (see Rick Moranis in Spaceballs 2)

This has nothing to do with Buffy. A few years ago, at the dawn of the Me-Too movement, she spoke about the abuse she experienced while acting. She revealed that she was molested as a child by stunt coordinator Joel Kramer while working on True Lies. She also revealed that she was molested by lead actor Michael Weatherly during the filming of Bull Show. She revealed that she left the industry because she suffered a psychological breakdown as a result of these events. The only new revelation is that she's a female therapist. Of course, her retirement from acting doesn't mean she won't guest star in an episode or two of the new Buffy series if it's picked up for season.

Just to clarify, Weatherly did not physically assault Dushku, but he did sexually harrass her verbally and bully her. When Dushku confronted Weatherly, he had her written off the show. CBS settled by paying out Dushku $9.5 million dollars.

Probably not, because in a recent interview that specifically mentioned the new Buffy, she says she has zero interest in acting ever again.

Google her story about how she was treated on the set of Bull. It's pretty gross.
