Fifty Years Ago Today... (Fantastic Four discussion)

huh. well, now i'm wondering what the whole point of Future Foundation was. don't get me wrong, it got me interested in the Fantastic Four after being away for so long. i wonder if they will still use the FF costumes and if Spidey will be around.

^ Uh...the article says that "FF" is continuing. As was speculated there will be two books now running along side of each other. Spidey is still a member of Fantastic Four as well as my avatar would indicate and the above article states.

i read the article, but it just seems silly for them to switch between costumes for certain occasions.

^ Peter doesn't use his Future Foundation costume all the time anyway. It was specifically designed by Reed for him to switch whenever he wanted to.

His new suit had many settings.

Reed was probably morally absent enough to leave Peter a "Venom" setting.

though after Stark and that red and yellow armour, no matter how it played out after Mary Jane made her deal with the devil, the Illuminati powered through on godmode...

Reed is family, but there's no way there isn't something in that suit that Reed (or Doom) couldn't use to track Peter Parker from almost anywhere on the planet... Although Doom can track Peter to within 5 feet using technology from Amazing Spider-man vol 1 #5 (1963). I say 5 feet because Flash Thompson was dressed up as Spider-Man while peter was walking by while doom was scanning for spider-radiation.

I wonder if Reed Programmed in a masculine version of Jessica Drew's Spider-Woman costume for a laugh?

Oh yeah that reminds me, I like what Hickman is doing, but I absolutely hate the black and white uniforms! They just look awful, most especially Spider-Man's one!

What's wrong with the Future Foundation costumes? They look like reversed Negative Zone costumes except with Reed's FF sybmols.

To me that is an unconvincing reason but that's fine if that's your reason. I have no problem with them...but then I'm a fan of the suits :)

The suits are strikingly original, but they also seem rather stark and clinical to me.

Comic books are all about color. Black and white is visually boring. :)
...Dr. Light? :p

Also, Phantom Girl.

I picked up FF for the first time (# 7), because the cover had Black Bolt and Ronan the Accuser fighting, and you can't not buy that.

However, the art is, well, not really adequate, and since when does Black Bolt have dialogue? That's kind of an automatic failure. Am I missing some retcon where even a whisper would not shatter mountains (pretty sure that's a verbatim quote from an Inhumans book).

Also, that cover? That cover is a mother fucking lie. I paid three dollars to see Black Bolt get a harem and the Supreme Intelligence put his sperm into the universal weapon. I'm not sure that was money well spent.

The Black Bolt return story is pretty much Hickman's homage to "Dune" if you've read both issues. Black Bolt being Paul Atredies. The Supreme Intelligence resembles Leto II or a Reverend Mother. Also Medusa still spoke for him to their delegation as well. When Black Bolt spoke there was consequences as always :) The best artist that Hickman had was Dale Eaglesham...his rendition of Sue was beautiful.

That's in poor taste mate.

The Fantastic Four was cancelled a few months back.

Some of us are trying to muck through with this massive vacuum in our lives and you don't even have the d... Never mind your dark sense of funeral crashing humour, just pay your respects to the departed and move along.
