I've made three trips to the grocery store in three days for various items. It wouldn't be so bad if Mom didn't live 40 minutes from the nearest store.

^I had to search that -otherwise I would never have guessed you bought a new pair of shoes.

Darn 'mericans; always using brand-names when there are perfectly good old words that mean the same...

:p

Oh, you're funny, Mr.-"Just-opened-another-Krombacher". Everytime you post in the "What are you eating/drinking?" thread lately, I go, "Flensburger Frühlingsbock??? What the hell is that?" and I have to go google it.

Except now I've figured out that 99% of the time you say a brand name, it's beer.

:p

(And if it ends in -ost, it's probably cheese. Yummy cheese.)

I have just bought The Disappearing Spoon by Sam Kean from the Kindle Store to read on my iPad. The. Book looks at the elements.

Oh yes I dih-iiid. And I'm about to head out the door to see if I can find Fluttershy, Rainbow Dash and Twilight Sparkle. :D

Just be glard you're not in a wheelchair and can't drive like me. Luckily, our grocery store is right down the street, and when my girlfriend is at work, I go by the chair and get little (by that I mean non-frozen) things. 20 minutes up and 20 back. It would probably take less, but I always treat myself to a Subway sandwich or McDonald's Big Mac when I get there. Both are in the same parking lot, and, I figure I've earned them. Plus, all that arm pumping makes me hungry.

Though, mostly I cheat and go on Saturdays when my girlfriend is off work. That way she drives and we're there in two minutes.;)

Oh, and OT: my purchase for today was a haircut.

^There's a guy in our neighborhood who has a motorized chair and goes out in the street---with the tall, orange safety flag---and does his errands. Luckily, it's a really suburban neighborhood and people just drive around him. I always worry that the guy will get hit, though. I see him rolling back to his house with a few plastic bags from the HEB or CVS on the corner.

I received a wonderful, wonderful gift. Something I've wanted for a loooong time.
The classic of coolness:

Now I feel like, say, Robert Redford or something.

Twin Peaks (complete)
Rango (Blu-ray)
S1 of Nu-BSG
S1 of The Wire

Got really good deals on those last two through the Amazon second-hand market

That ought to keep me busy for a while!

I have never seen a single episode of Nu-BSG or The Wire

Well I'm not sure why I did this, but just last Friday I picked up a Motorola Xoom 10.1 tablet, 32GB. And I already had an Ipad. A friend of mine and myself refer to this as the "sickness" in that we seem to have this compulsion to want to buy all kinds of electronic gadgetry even when we have no compelling reason to do so.

Aren't there sidewalks where you live? Or at least a bike lane? I'm lucky I guess, my area has both so rolling in traffic isn't too much of a problem for me.

Finally got around to getting the Star Trek "Alternate Realities" DVD collection set.

Pretty cool............ :techman:

Nice Aviators.

Wish I could wear them myself, but they're just too big for my face and I look like a tool with them on. Plus they don't really go with what I wear. I might get a pair of Clubmasters when my current sunglasses need replacing though.

I went on a pretty serious shopping spree today.

Three bottles of wine.
A small wine rack.
A box of fennel tea.
A jar of three-fruit marmalade.
A jar of onion and calvados confit.
Two glass jars for spices.
Two tea towels.
F.E.A.R. 3 for PC.
A six-CD sampler of music by Chopin.
And both seasons of Carnivale on DVD.

Oh, and lunch, which was overpriced and underwhelming. But at least the shopping was good.
