The best episode of DS9 - Part Six

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Favor the Bold
Sacrifice of Angels
Inquisition
In the Pale Moonlight
Tears of the Prophets

Going to remove Far Beyond the Stars. It's a good episode, but not as good as whats left.

Tears of the Prophets - Pah-Wraiths, red eye Dukat chanting. 'Nuff said.

All the other episodes remaining are great.

Removing Inquisition. Just because the rest are better.

A Time to Stand
Rocks and Shoals
Favor the Bold
Sacrifice of Angels
In the Pale Moonlight

In the Pale Moonlight

Removed Rocks and Shoals. The least awesome of a pack of awesome episodes.

How can you remove Rocks and Shoals?

"It was never my life to give up, Captain."
"Evil must be opposed."

An irony considering your avatar, as well.

OH MY GOD! You eliminated that episode?! If we were running a pool, that's who I would choose to win this. It is that good. OH MAN!

A Time to Stand
Favor the Bold
In the Pale Moonlight

Removed "Sacrifice of Angels." Good episode, but it's weakened somewhat by the deus ex machina at the end.

Favor the Bold
In the Pale Moonlight

I remove "A Time To Stand", for one reason: like many season premeres, it suffers from "recap syndrome", in which info is constantly forced on the viewer on what all has been going on since the last season ended. It's particularly bad when Martok blurts out the exact number of ships that had composed the fleet recently decimated by the Dominion--and when Garak blurts out how ever since Bashir's enhancements had been revealed...etc.

I am sacrificing Sacrifice of Angels I didn't like that Ziyal died.

I see that someone beat me to the punch.

I think you're a few posts behind, MHT1138. "Sacrifice of Angels" has already been killed.

I'll eliminate Favor the Bold meaning that In the Pale Moonlight wins. The fundamental laws of the universe dictate it.

Edit: This is like a three-way vote collision... type thing.

In the Pale Moonlight

'Favor the Bold'

'cause, really, didn't we all know 'In the Pale Moonlight' would win?

I happen to like "Far Beyond the Stars" a little more, but "In the Pale Moonlight" is still one of the best episodes of the series.

Given the nature of the game, and that ITPM is a somewhat controversial episode, I assumed it would be eliminated distressingly early. I mean, if Duet can be knocked out then anything can.

Ditto. I prefer FBTS, but they would have been my top 2 either way.

I thought it was a great payoff for the relationship between Sisko and the wormhole aliens. You ask yourself, why did they need an Emissary for this period of Bajoran history? And the answer is that they need protection from the Dominion, from the Cardassians. It also set up the end of the series when Sisko must spend time with them.

...so pardon my confusion, but: In the pale Moonlight "won", then?

If yes, I approve. If not... I'm lost. Not over taste, but as to who actually won then.

I'm still :cardie: :cardie: :cardie: :cardie: :cardie: over that one.

OTOH, I approve on ITPM winning, of course :bolian:

I'm guessing that it's is not a controversial episode in this forum because it features no Bajorans, and AFAIR even Kira is barely in it. :shifty: If there are any Bajorans in an episode, you know that someone on this forum will hate it even if it's the greatest episode ever.

"In the Pale Moonlight" definitely deserved to win, and I did expect it too. I'm actually not surprised "Far Beyond the Stars" wasn't a finalist, either, because there always has been a small but vocal minority out there that dislikes it.
