I'm looking forward to the R&I season premiere, too. The DVR is programmed and waiting. I loved season one right from the start and was very happy when I learned it was coming back for another season.

Decent opening. I liked some of the character changes they've made.
Especially Bruce McGill's character getting the promotion to Detective Sargent.

I'd never even heard of this show until last week when I saw an ad for it in Entertainment Weekly's Harry Potter issue, and yesterday I happened to stumble across a gag reel on YouTube. I enjoy the two actresses so I'm going to have to check this out (I don't know if it airs anywhere in Canada, at least on any non-digital channels). Is the show based upon the novels, or are the novels based upon the show?

Never read the novels, but I figure they're at least the primary basis for the show. Character and whatnot.

one of my favorite commerical are when rizzolie is has her arms wrapped around isles and say she bff's. all so it turns out all the books are aviable on the nc. later I'll put a list up for the books.

I know nothing about the books, but I think you could accurately retitle the show "Butch & Lipstick." Angie Harmon is TNT's idea of butch.
The characters are explicitly heterosexual but the lesbian subtext is deliberate, which tells you this is not a serious drama. But it can be quite entertaining if you can invest in the friendship,

Glad the show is back. I really enjoyed season one, and the S2 opener was good. Glad to see she wasn't 100% healed and taking down bad guys or something already.

We watched the first ep of the new season On Demand last night. Neither the wife or I got it. The cop has a SUPER grating voice and as mentioned above, comes across as pretty butch and makes some odd acting (or lack of) choices. The medical examiner is somewhat hot and a much better actress, but no thanks. Just did not appeal from an acting or story perspective.
There are way too many police procedurals to choose from as it is and we won't be returning to this one. Besides, the cop actress is a hard-core, right wing Republican and Sarah Palin fan. No thanks. *DUCKS*

My son (he's 17) and I were watching TNT and a commercial for this show came on. He said it looked pretty good. I told him I thought it would be better if they were lesbians. He replied they're not, then said never mind.
So it seems their ads designed to mildly titilate work.
