Yeah, I'm gonna give this thing two years. At which point, Krona, Darkseid or the Anti-Monitor show up and we have "Crisis On Shitty Reboot Earth" and nuke the whole universe.
DC will then say "yes, we said there would be no reversals, and we sure made it seem like this was permanent....but it was all part of the plan. I mean, it's not like we didn't do this on a smaller scale when it was our intention to make Bart the Flash after one of our lame Crisis' like how Wally became the Flash for 22 years after THE Crisis.
I can't see it - the corporate aim is to increase the volume of units sold and to create a revenue stream from digital readers to replace the declining and failing Direct Market - if that does not happen, why would they want to return to a model that has
already failed? Moreover if this does fail, John, Lee and Didio would all be out of a job and I doubt their replacement would want to re-heat their previous failures.
I think for better or worse this is it - sure some elements of the old might creep in over time, but I doubt we will ever see the current version of the DCU again, not as the 'main' universe.
