it seemed to me one summer in Georgia that those blood thirsty creatures didn't like me. Now for the past two I can't stop being bit.

Oh, I can't stand SyFy "original" movies. Most of them are from The Asylum, and all of them generally suck.

Oh, and to stay on the subject of sci-fi, this was from the Trek convention in Chicago last year, where Marc Alaimo, Casey Biggs and Jeffrey Combs did a Shakespeare reading. It was wonderful.

Why is it necessary to qualify it? Is she incapable of simply accepting a compliment? That's all you're doing after all.

No, I saw it, I just don't agree with it. What I hate is that our overly-PC ridden society, whose goals were originally to be inclusion has instead created such a climate of hate and fear that EVERYBODY bitches about EVERYTHING anymore. We are no longer able to just speak to each other anymore, and that's sad. I mean, what in the holy hell happened to taking things at face value? Why are peole so afraid of simple words now?

But, that's a topic for another thread. I've had my say and now I fell like I've had an enema.

(Hell, now I've probably offended somebody who uses enemas.)

Spocked ~ fabulous iris. I planted some this year but they have not come out. Do you get 'blind' irises like you get blind daffodils? Also my gladiolli haven't bloomed either. Or am I just a really crap gardener?

The added caveats when doling out compliments always make it seem like that's exactly what they are doing.

It's like someone starting a statement with, "I'm not racist or anything, but those Mexicans..."

Yeah, I don't get it either tbh. Don't see the big deal. I like compliments. When I posted my pics (or the link to my website) I got a couple of nice, polite compliments.
Why should those people worry about me being mad at them?

I think because a lot of people are afraid to come off as creepy on the internet. Seeing as communication in text is not always as easy as it is in person, as least not as to the intonations and subtext.
