Thanks, everybody! This means I'll be taking two summer courses to finish my masters degree (starting Wednesday and finishing up during the first week of August). I'll have some time in August and September to study for the dreaded CPA exam.

I like to mix it up. Chefs are popular these days. Hard to go by the old standby though - I'm a barrister.

I think the standard line is to call yourself a CPA...once you actually get that certification, of course... I haven't thought too much about it. I could also just say that I work for accounting firm X (or wherever I am at the time). I applied for an IRS internship once. Now that would have been a downer at a party.

I applied for a data entry position at the IRS. Took the test at their site and everything. They didn’t want me--my keystrokes-per-minute test was high, double their minimum. I don’t think they believed the test results.
