I'm surprised there is no porn version of it. Han came first.
Geez, this thread will never go away, will it? You close one, and then it respawns.
Well, that's just goddam rude! The only people I can see doing that are bratty teenagers. Adult human beings shouldn't attack people because of their opinion of a movie.

You gotta salt and burn the bones, that's what everybody forgets.
Hatred of the prequels has become the orthodoxy of Star Wars fandom, and people like me who really like them are constantly called upon to explain this heresy.

You don't have to explain yourself. Just say "Bugger off, I like the PT", or something to that extent.
One of the great things about the internet is that you can choose to feel totally indifferent to the way someone treats you.

I'm not a Star Wars fan, so I don't know what the "orthodoxy" is - they don't let me attend meetings. I just know that there are two-and-a-half SW movies that don't bore my ass off.

Han didn't fire first.
He fired, and only he, fired. Which Is the point of the scene.

Note: Listen carefully to the Naboo celebration music at the end of the movie and you'll notice some interesting foreshadowing.
If Vader had been anything other than Vader as he's always been a lot more people would have complained about it.

That's not always easy to do, especially when the person treating you that way, just won't STOP. Or if you are so far in the minority that your opinion is not treated as worthy of existence (try being a fan of the original BSG, for example, and then go to this board's BSG forum and open your mouth).
^ But you wouldn't dare say that in the BSG forum, would you? Not if your idea of a good time isn't being shouted down and basically forced into silence. It'd be like showing up at Dodger Stadium wearing Giants gear.
