My brother-in-law and his wife just had a baby.

My withered ovaries are weeping. Squish that baby for me!!!

My brother took a picture of the wound. You can see it HERE (WARNING: Image is a bit graphic) if you want to see how bad it was. It was bad enough that my brother said he could see bone. I'm just happy to see she didn't have any concussion or after effects other than some pain. Children scare me sometimes.

OMFG. I looked. That was an INCREDIBLY deep gash!! Thank goodness she is ok! And the kids are adorable!

As a semi-pertinent side comment, I'm scared shitless of handling babies. They look like they could break just by staring at them too hard, let alone picking them up. Some friends offered me to hold their kids: I didn't want to offend them but I just couldn't do it. I would have ended dropping it on its head. I wonder how people manage to do it with such ease. (I'm weird, I know...)

Nah, that's just the typical reaction of someone who hasn't had their own yet, or hasn't been around them much. Once you have your own it'll be totally natural.
