Smallville: Series Finale - Week Long - Discusion Thread

Smallville's series finale airs next Friday, ending a 10-year run showing the development of Clark Kent into the Man of Steel.

It'll be a two-hour finale featuring as well the one and only Lex Luthor.

For this momentous event let us spend a week discussing all of our Smallville memories and experiences watching episodes.

I will miss this show luckly I have them all in dvd and br.

^ You think it will be epic and you've been a loyal viewer from the start? LOL. Sigh. I am not exactly filled with confidence about the finale and frankly don't know if I'll be participating in the thread when it airs. I am looking forward to seeing Lex and that's about it. Brian and Kelly have sucked all the fun out of this show that it was had in my opinion and I'll be glad when it's done.

I think starting this thread early is a great idea and you should definitely check out the episode if you can, AY.

Despite the show's inconsitent nature, I will miss it. It was fun way to win down the college/work week back in the day.

I was debating about starting a top ten favorite episode thread...but might wait until after the finale. Only two episodes from this season are on my list. I doubt the finale will make it lol.

I've been all up in it since the pilot and its been a great ride. When it's bad its bad and when it's good its really good. I for one will miss the goodness it had to offer, even though it was overshadowed by a lot of the bad.

Can't wait for it personally, sure they've had their whoppers, but they do alright at big premiers, finales and mid-season stuff and special character episodes. I think we'll get that big moment we all want, may not be as long as we want it for, but we'll get it.

That's the trouble. I'm not looking for a moment, or a scene or two. I could care less about that. I'd like to be able to see Clark assume the costume and maybe speak, or gasp...fight Darkseid as Superman. I know that probably won't happen though. I could care less about a moment. I didn't watch for ten years to get a moment. I'm sorry if that's fine for you but it's not for me.

Best fight scene was between Clark and Titan in Combat. All-out, high powered fight. It's a shame they couldn't do that with Doomsday, easily the show's biggest disappointment. Which is too bad because the DD storlyine with Sam Witwer was a good one.

The Clark/LexZod fight was completely one-sided but still impressively done. Clark/Zod without their powers was a good fight. Clark/Bizarro ended with one big punch.

I watched the first episode of SV and for whatever reason, didn't watch the show again until the last couple of episodes of the third season. I became a regular watcher starting with the Season 4 premeire. Despite missing the first three years, I had no problem catching up. I do have the first season DVD and I intend to watch that at some point.

The Clark/Lex-Zod fight is my favorite. I didn't think the fight against Titan was all that. Glen Jacobs (Kane) did a good job with a role that was tailor made for him. Actually it's funny that Titan made more of impact than the Zoner that Batista played.

I'm on the fence with this. I was looking forward to the Finale until the end of Prophecy, now I fear 90 minutes of melodrama.

Supernatural or Fringe perhaps. Maybe Chuck.

^No never Chuck, and Fringe I don't have a problem with (well, maybe the reveal of The First People), but Supernatural, yes! I can get on that train.

I'll have nothing to bitch about after "Smallville" ends...well except if Annie and Jeff are ever gonna get together or not in "Community"

With Smallville gone that will be one less program to watch. Maybe Swamp People or something on the DIY network.

Definitely the best fight, IMO, that SV has ever had, and it's what the one with Doomsday should've modeled itself after.

I'm really torn on the show ending. I really enjoyed a few seasons back, but the end result of the Souders & Peterson era have left me feeling unsatisfied. I have no real hopes for the finale... I guess seeing Ally and Rosey will be enough.

And, I'm going to miss our commentaries.
