Archer. Not afraid to break rules, or faces. He didn't need "dynamic mode converters" to defeat his adversaries, just his fists.

Picard or Sisko. Picard is very reasoned and intelligent, and one can have confidence that he would figure out a solution that would save the ship and crew.

Sisko is also a smart guy, but he has a more no nonsense/don't mess with me persona than Picard does. His basic personality gives confidence in his subordinates, since you know he is strong and solid. Even still, Sisko is more militarily geared than Picard, and would ensure that all members survive.

I would! It's mobile. It's cloaked. It's... super-Fed-ship! The station just sits there like a dying dragon protecting its hoard. A foreign knight will soon oppose it for the last time...

I voted for Picard, but I don't know if I could hack it on the enterprise. I like to work hard, but I also like to slack sometimes. I think I'd be on Picard's radar and Riker would be on my ass all the time. Maybe Starfleet isn't for me.

Sisko by far. To me he is like a "real" captain. I remember hearing on some documentary somewhere that some people in the military think he is the most captain-like. He is strong, authoritative and intelligent. I would feel like I could trust Ben and feel safe with him. At the same time he has a great sense of humor at the right opportunity.

Excuse me, he was every bit "reckless". If there was a bomb that needed to be blown up on a planet who did the job? Kirk. Protocol said that Captains were not supposed to go on away missions. But who did? Kirk. Why did the Klingons hate him so much? Reckless contact maybe?

I voted for Picard. He doesn't leave people behind. Whether it's the D or E, he has a lot of people to take care of and he cares for them all. Being on the Fleet's Flagship makes for a big target, but it is also well protected with lots of experienced people on board.

Kirk: as has been said before - reckless, no one wants to be the dreaded redshirt. (on Picard's ship every one wants to be a redshirt!)
Sisko: He commands a spacestation a a small group of small ships. The Defiant has quarters only a Klingon would love. Think of this, your CO things he's a Messiah......

Archer: He did well with what he had, but I like the security of a big ship with weapons and defenses that equal its neighbors.

I have one thought for everyone that has posted sofar. Has anyone decided based on the ship not the captain and crew?

I vote for Sisko. He seems like a Captain who basically cares about getting results and doing the right thing by his friends. He has many good qualities, but I always prefer a boss who cares less about rules than results. Kirk is similar, but I would never meet any pretty aliens under his watch since he he would score them all.
