Re: Favorite Voyager Videos
^ Dang, that is so SAD! So beautifully done, though.

^^ Now THAT'S what I'm talking about!
And OF COURSE I forgot you did it already! Heck, do you realize how many of these music vids I watch every week? And that's just the Trek ones. Lets not forget the lovefest I'm having (nearly) daily with a certain Thracian Warrior, not to mention her Bardic sidekick!
I usually just search "voyager" and the songname before I post in the music thread, and I don't recall yours popping up. Mea Culpa.![]()
I am nearing the 5th season of that warrior and her sidekick and I would def. call it a love fest
I never tag the song titles... I suppose I should![]()
Have we posted this one yet? (We probably have, but I can't remember.)
Because...

I thought you said last November that you bought the series and I'm glad I didn't steer you wrong. I'd love to hear your opinion on the "original"dynamic duo.
As for tagging the song titles, it certainly does help we fans who "hear" a wonderful song and wonder if someone else has brought it to life already. I've found great Janeway AND Xena vids looking for the song instead of the character.

XWP is right up my alley. Totally in love. I didn't realize it had to do with greek mythology ect. (stupid me) If I had known I would have watched it years ago. It takes me for ever to watch anything though, for exsample HP7 I have been dying to see this movie really, DYING. Ask me if I have seen it. Hey, Vas have youseen HP7 yet? NOOOOO! WTF?! I literally have watched seasons 1-4 in 3-4 weeks. The D.D. is a great combo. Their relationship is intriguingand I love the bath scenes
but don't forget Joxer the Mighty LOL Soft spot right here <3 for Joxer... Oh I could go on all day...
In a way, this has nothing to do with Voyager vids, but in another way, it does. It's a movie recreating Yuri Gagarin's first orbit of the Earth. It's pretty awesome, in the serious sense of the word.

How far are you? I don't want to say anything and "spoil" it for you!
Oh... just to make this germane to our topic...

Not to slow you down or anything, but after watching the ep, try rewatching with the audio commentary going. I love the in-stories/jokes but even more I love the insights that are often mentioned re: the characters/themes of the show.
As for the whole idea of "subtext"...After watching THAT show, I feel like Crocodile Dundee when someone tries to mention subtext on Voyager.
"That's not a knife/subtext (J/7), THIS is a knife/subtext (X/G).
Oh, and something else I've really appreciated both the first time I ran through X:WP in last fall's marathon session, and the second time through on my recapping thread this winter ... those X:WP: PTB really did a good job at keeping us interested in their relationship/friendship/"whatever" throughout all 6 seasons.
Perhaps its because I didn't have to wade through weeks/months of repeats while waiting for new shows, but the flow of their story was amazing and always seemed to be bringing us/them further and further in their "journey". How many times have we complained that Trek writers don't handle relationships well? Hell, these Xena guys were super at it, all the while denying to high heaven that they were "trying" to put X&G in a "relationship".
Oh, and to make it germane to our board once more, I bothand YET
with Kate Mulgrew on her refusal to have a relationship with Chakotay take center stage on Voyager. Agree
because Trek PTB's wouldn't have handled the hetero relationship with as much finesse as Xena's PTB's handled these two women.
But think about it.
Imagine Trek "progressing" J/C the way X:WP progressed X/G. Never actually "seeing" the "sweeter aspects" of their (J/C) relationship, as Rob Tapert (Xena's Exec Producer) said re: X/G, and yet knowing from everything ELSE J/C say and do that there WAS more going on than met the eye. Giving Janeway both a port in a storm for her soul to visit, and yet keeping both of them above reproach re: the rest of the crew.

I watched both videos and I really like them
I'm on S5 a few episodes after the birth of Eve. Yes the subtext is def. there in XWP no doubt about it.
I totally agree with all of the above. I have always been for J/C incognito. It could have still been well played if they didn't throw that C/7 garbage in the mix.
I love the developement of X/G and I love how the characters are always referring to the past eps. I can't wait to see this "future" episode!!
I read somewhere that Lucy and Renee did some add libbing... Hmmm?
Recap thread?! Where?!
