Anyone Else Pissed at the Whole Sheen Situation?

Never seen the show, and it's not like we haven't seen celebs go doolally before, but I do feel sorry for the rest of the cast and crew who might be canned because of it.

I've never watched that sitcom, so it's irrelevant to me. Sheen's rants are at least briefly amusing, which is more entertainment value than I've ever previously gotten from the guy. I doubt he's such a comic genius that he can't be easily replaced.

Well said James Spader can fill in as a long lost cousin. :)

I love Charlie Sheen, but the man needs help. Serious help, immediately, or we're going to see something very bad happen very soon.

I agree he does need help. I will not watch the show anymore. I feel that if he gets the help he needs he should get another chance. He is a great actor.:techman:

Great actor? Meh. A good capable actor, yes.

Never saw the appeal of the show, but when did Ducky become "the other guy"?

He became the "other guy" at the end of Pretty in Pink. HE WAS ROBBED!

I'm not pissed off about it, but I did like the show. Imagine making tens of millions of dollars just playing yourself like Charlie did. He had the perfect job. Nobody can lay into their boss like he did and not get fired. Look at Chuck Lorre's viewpoint for a second, try being creative around a guy that just ripped into you on a national level for a few weeks. There is no way they could work together after that in person. I think I might swallow my pride if I was Lorre. If he really did make a half billion like Charlie Sheen is saying then I'd just let Charlie do the show and make another few hundred million off his back. Lorre doesn't even need to be there while raking it in.

ITA, John.

Hopefully he gets that help.

I loved him in the Hot Shots movies, I loved him in Wall Street, and my favorite role of his was as Zane Zaminsky in The Arrival. I agree that he is a great actor.

Why? He abused his wife,

He got into domestic altercations with his wife; in other words, they had fights. Not uncommon in a marriage, particularly between two high profile celebrities. That doesn't make it right, but it doesn't make him a monster. I would also bet a good deal of it is substance related, which is all the more reason for him to come clean.

fucks hookers,

Hookers are people, too. I don't care if he sleeps with prostitutes.

and takes massive amounts of cocaine.

If he does, that means he needs help. I'd rather he not destroy his life and the lives of those who love him. I hope he gets help for the substance abuse.

He goes and trashes people that gave him his job.

So do millions of employees throughout the workforce every day. Nothing new there.

The guy is an ass, plain and simple.

Personal opinion. I think he makes mistakes, and sometimes his ego gets the best of him, but he is a very good actor, and has played some great roles, and I think if he can get away from the drug abuse, he could be even better and follow the cleaner path, re: Robert Downey Jr.

We live in a time in which celebrities themselves are considered entertainment. In another time and place, Sheen's actions would have been covered briefly in a 10-second segment and then quickly forgotten the next day. These days, it's primo fodder for major headline stories for various media outlets like Entertainment Tonight, TMZ, and so on. And with the internet as an open soapbox for everyone from my next door neighboor to Sheen himself to make it even a bigger topic of conversation, it's little wonder why it's been made such a big story, IMO...

I have never watched the show and I'm not pissed at Shhen, but I think it's bull CBS taking the moral high ground. Its not like they really give a shit about his health or his antics, if it made them mobey they would buy the drugs for him. The people who should be pissed are the crew. What really geys me is NA and AA hasn't came and and defended themselves. I mean people swear buy these programs and most states endorse them, as matter of fact they make a lot of money off of drug and alcohol treatment. If it's so great, why aren't they coming out and saying Sheen is full of shit, which he is.

There is no proof what they do actually works. The only documents there are from years ago shows a 5% rate of success which is exactly the same rate as if you go cold turkey.

AA is a religion that somehow the court system in the USA figures is OK. I would never give in to the bullshit religion that they are passing off as a real rehab.

Sheen doesn't need AA, no one needs AA, go to church. What Sheen needs is real rehab with doctors and not some stupid bullshit in which you give up your drug abbuse to a higher power.

The only side of the story we've been hearing these last couple weeks is Charlie Sheen's, and it's a story that borders on incoherence. Warner Bros. and CBS have been pretty tight-lipped, and except for a couple comments from Les Moonves at an event, have had little to say apart from their terse press releases on the subject of the show's suspension and Sheen's dismissal.

Warner Bros. and CBS undoubtedly had clauses in Sheen's contract which allowed him to be fired if his bad-boy behavior jeopardized the stability of their cash cow. If Sheen's promise to sue Warner and CBS "big" makes it to court, the details of how he breached his own contract will likely come out.

I'm not pissed at Warner or CBS; they have a business to run, and that business can't run if the star of their #1 sitcom has taken a left turn from "bad-boy" into "blue batshit crazy." They can't keep the show on hold forever waiting for Sheen to come down from his current manic episode and finally get the treatment he needs. It's not fair to the cast and crew of the show, or to either company's investors.

As amusing as this whole ride has been, Sheen's media statements backed them into a corner where firing him was the only logical option.

Spoken like a true Vulcan. Only I wouldn't describe Sheen's meltdown as 'blue batshit crazy'. Like Mel Gibson, Sheen's manic episode and other bullshit could be better described as a 'full scale mental breakdown.'

And like other people who have heard and witnessed the publicity around this latest industry scandal, it has gotten as old as dried up horseshit. Dried up real fast.

I'm still amazed that his father Martin and his brother Emilio haven't knocked some sense into that dope-addicted head of his.

But then again, to enforce physical sense into a mentality who has been poisoned by such excessive and illegal activities, is like asking a Klingon to forgo honor(which that race places a high value on).

Sheen has already dug himself in a hole and has buried whatever chances he has had at a redemption or career comeback.

I'm tired of the spotlight condoning his behavior. It just feeds his craziness. I miss when he was a good actor. I'm tempted to put my big lifesize Cadence VHS display on ebay. How much do you think I could get? Although a Hot Shots poster would be easier to ship. :)

It depends on what else(that is Charlie Sheen related)is being sold on ebay, and how much those items are going for.

Even though I don't like Martin Sheen that much, I do feel bad for him. As a parent, myself, I can only begin to imagine what he is going through, and how much of an emotional strain his son's bullshit is putting him through.
