I think one thing that's turned people against Charlie Sheen is that he's acting like this and fully expecting to keep his job. If any of us average people came to work blottoed, bashed our bosses and admitted to the stuff he's admitted to, we'd be fired and our kids would be taken away from us and we'd be in jail.

It was more than that. When he called / texted about killing his ex there was some word of him making fun of Jews (because her family is Jewish) and then he made fun of his ex manager and said some Jewish things.
Then he calls up ET Live or something and they are like best buddies with him, "How could someone who turns out to be Jewish hate Jews?", I don't know, let's go ask Hitler (Wasn't Hitler's grandpa Jewish?).

Of course that's not really Lorre's real name. He was born Charles Michael Levine. So Carlos Estevez, who did Anglicize his name to a derivitive of Charles, is making fun of Chuck Lorre for doing the same thing. Even though he didn't.

Maybe this is for an entirely another thread, but I don't get the whole sensitivity about Jews in this day and age. Why for example does Wikipedia have a "List of Jewish actors" and a "List of Jewish musicians", but not a "List of Christian actors" or even a "List of Muslim actors"? There's not even a "list for gay actors" (although there is a list of male performers in gay porn films, I wonder who made the effort to put that up). It's crazy.

I just found out that Chuck Lorre co-wrote and sang (!) the theme song of "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" (1987). This sort of explains Sheen's character on "Two and A Half Men" being a jingle writer. In light of this new information, I must now take Lorre's side in any squabble with Sheen, even though I despise their show.

I think the suggestion is that Charlie is "outing" Lorre. It's not that long ago, like the 1950s, that even being Jewish in Hollywood wasn't a great thing.

But in this specific instance, what reason did Charlie Sheen have for not only referring to Lorre by his birth name, but deliberately choosing the Hebrew version of the name? I mean, this thread might as well be about Chaim Sheen. Makes as much sense, unless Sheen deliberately wanted to make his ethnicity an issue.

While it's been peaceful, I was only using the comparison between Sheen and Gibson as an example. I mean Gibson shot himself in the foot and hasn't been the same sense those comments, yet Sheen hasn't really gone that far. Still, with all this coverage, I honestly don't think he'll do what it takes to improve. He just seems perfectly happy with this lifestyle, and I hope he doesn't do damage to him, his family, or those around him in the long term, even though I'm afraid it will.
