Which means, my dvds have not been erased. Now, if that isn't a reason to celebrate, I don't know what is!

Why do fans insist on calling the original continuity the "old" continuity. The purpose of the split was so that they could both run along each other parallel, not so one could replace the other. While I agree anything we see will probably take place in the JJ continuity, the books are still happening in the original continuity.
When you typed "least inconsistencies" in regards to Nemesis, did you do it without busting out laughing?

Its actually a pretty basic plot, and yes it has fewer inconsistencies than the other movies. STGEN probably has the most.

STV makes no sense whatsoever...from the opening scene onwards...
I think Shinzon would have made a terrific villain for the series but not for a movie. Had no problem with Tom Hardy's performance.

Now, I want to make it very clear that I don't think STV is a good movie, but the plot is pretty basic and makes perfect sense. Spock's brother is getting visions of Sha Ka Ree and needs some way to get there. Since no one in their right mind would try to breach the barrier, he has to steal a starship. When he finds "God", it isn't what he thought it would be and then they kill God and live happily ever after.
Yeah I understand what you're saying...another part of the reason why John Logan's script was flawed. Shinzon should have continued his focus on the Star Empire, target more planets with the radiation forcing Starfleet to intervene to stop him. There's a lot of things in Nemesis that don't make sense I guess.
Why would he want to destroy Earth, though? It makes no damn sense.
Shinzon was all over the place. Makes no sense.
He's got this psychological hang-up with Picard.
As if he cannot live as an echo while Picard exists,
so he must destroy Picard in order to live. That's his motivation.
Then there's the biological hang-up, where he will die unless he gets Picard's blood. Picard must survive intact into his hands or else he cannot physically continue to live. That's his motivation.
And we have the Remans. Shinzon is devoted to his Reman "brothers" and he states his whole purpose is to rescue them from slavery and liberate them. That's his motivation.
Hold on... there are Romulans, too. Shinzon's got a gripe against them, understandably. He must exact revenge upon them, and he pursues that goal. That's his motivation.
Wait, there's more.
Even though Shinzon's got most of all this stuff above already covered, he goes even further. He's got Picard, freed the Remans, wiped out the Romulans, got the Empire in his control.
But now, for some reason, he's got a giant grudge against Earth and the Federation. He must DESTROY them, too. That's his motivation.
Whew. What's his point again? What does Shinzon want? What's his motivation? Huh??
I'm watching Nemesis right now, to finally conclude my Trek movie marathon and I honestly think it's now my least favorite movie. Before, it was The Motion Picture but Nemesis is truly a piece of garbage.
Does anyone on this board really love this movie? No judgments if you do, I'm just curious to see if there is something I'm missing.
It has a few fans, honestly, but Nemesis is pretty much the most reviled of all the Trek films. There's a lot more consensus on that than even Final Frontier or Motion Picture.
