This old trek fan wasn't cringing at all. TOS Kirk had plenty of scenes where he was making out with some alien babe. I don't see why this one scene is such a problem. When/how did Trek fans become such prudes??

Almost anything that's not forty-odd years out of date is enough to make "some OldTrek fans cringe." That's a lousy criterion for doing or avoiding anything.
