I can't be the only one here who's spoiler-free on this show and was relishing the very slight possibility they were getting rid of Tyler in the first few minutes? Hopefully getting his face melted off is a foreshadowing of his upcoming demise in a future episode.

Tyler is very poorly written. Then again, the whole show is very poorly written.

Shouldn't Lisa be wondering why Erica didn't out Lisa as a lizard to Tyler?

So I joked to BigFoot in a PM that the writers would explain away red sky by having Anna telling everyone that red sky will make their coffee taste better, and that the humans would unconditionally applause and accept that answer.

I could write for this show!

Wasn't there a lot of people wishing they would show more of Laura Vandervoot in her underwear? See? The producers really are listening!

The process by which the human female become breeders for the lizards will make male sperm pathetically undertasked to survive inside a female body... I really have no idea why they're keeping that in reserve unless the writers are too silly to fathom such obvious logic.

Hmmm.

If one mother ship can suppress or destroy humanity, they're afer somethign odd.

Follow my logic.

Only queens can breed.

And they eat the male during the mating ritual.

It's dicey if a queen will survive the pregnancy.

Any female V we have seen who looks like a female is probably a drone or a male in female flesh.

What they're doing is creating 4 billion disposable queens who are not going to eat the males suppling the V genetic material.

they're creating a huge army.

That makes no sense for coloniztion since colonizatrion is about displacing surplus population, not about planting a flag and garrisoning.

Planting a flag and garrisoning is about creating a buffer between 2 or more forces you don't want to directly strike against.

There's another enemy.

A real enemy.

(This was covered in TOS.)

Halfway to a real enemy turning earth into a rapecamp to produce 4 billion litters or even just 4 billion soldiers which then plan on using with a new fleet on it's way to play cargo transport to take the army somewhere...

Humanity is a means to an end.

Well that just seems all very obvious?

... Tyler needs a good solid 'whap' to the back of his head.

Oh, he got a good solid whap, courtesy of Lisa. :ouch:

Anyhoo, I liked it, felt it was above average, and want to keep watching. The only cringe places were where Chad Decker was talking loudly in the church, and the other is the SFX on the teleporter/elevator whatever that Anna took to see Mama Badler. Otherwise, decent show this week.

I was racking my brain trying to figure out where I saw that doctor guy before and got nothing. Then I looked him up and saw that it was Bret Harrison, the star of Reaper, a show I watched for two years. :o

V star Elizabeth Mitchell has admitted that she was "frustrated" by the show's first season.

The actress told Entertainment Weekly that the new ten-part run will contain "far more action" and "sexy stuff".

"If you were frustrated by the last season, which you probably were [and] I was, a little bit, I think that this [season] will be far more satisfying," she claimed. "There is far more of what you want in an alien invasion story, where the aliens are out to use us as food and take our technology and do everything bad you can think about."

Why do people constantly equate "improvement" by tossing in "more action" and "sexy stuff". An overreliance on both of those things and I'd toss in VFX and silly humor have been what has led to such poor tv/films in the last ten years.

V is just aimless and I think it is too late to save. It looks like they aren't putting any new spin on anything and are perfectly content aping heavily from better sff with a lot of its ideas.

The V's are much more entertaining and interesting then any of the "5th column".

So much so that I am rooting for the V's to win! Go Lizards!

Humanity is a means to an end.

Well that just seems all very obvious?

It does seem to be crazy overkill to have a big fleet and tons of soldiers when it seems like humanity is prepared to bow down and lick the feet of the lizards if it means free energy and healthcare. The Resistance/Fifth Column are not problems that can be solved through massive military action, in any case. The pilot even showed the best approach the V's can take: sending in undercover agents to infiltrate meetings and then blow 'em up. They should always have a convenient scapegoat, e.g. "These Resistance folks must have been working on a bomb to attack us with and blew themselves up instead. See how incompetent and dangerous they are?"

I haven't seen this episode yet, I just wish the show would even try to do something other than the same boring old alien invasion crap we've always seen. Give us some interesting twists here! And have characters who aren't fucking morons! Blowing shit up and seeing half-naked chicks is nice and all but I won't be tuning in week after week just for that.

The big story about last night's show seems to have been missed by a lot of people. When the heck did Rockne s O'Bannon of Farscape become one of the show's producers? I'm watching the episode through an alternate method due to falling asleep before it aired last night, and I had to go back and "rewind" to see if I'd read that correctly. I don't remember him being involved in season 1.

(As I'm only up to the credits I can't comment on the whole episode, except to remark that Anna's "scorpion tail" attack was kick-ass, and I gave a whoop when Jane Badler's credit came up. And, yes, O'Bannon's.)

I have a feeling they're going to be pitching a sequel to Showtime for late-night viewing. The producers are getting desperate.

the original blew the world in half.

it was shit.

but when Diana, was it Diana? When the Girl Lizard dislocated her jaw and swallowing an entire gerbal without chewing... All anyone with a Y chromosome thought was "that could easily be my penis."

The new show isn't even capturing the geeks imagination, god forbid the worlds.

when Anna went down to that scummy lair I was expecting to see a slimy lizard foot come out of that nest & instead got red stilletos. I LOLed.

also the alien skull reminds me of a sloth...
