Do You Know Anyone "Famous"?

Mr Silver

Commodore
Newbie
Pretty much as the thread title says, just wondering if anyone knows anyone considered "Famous"

Some members of my family have minor fame, but only really in their respective circles, However I will say that a relative of mine as guest starred in two episodes of Star Trek (which wasn't my reason for getting into it, it was actually after i'd been a fan for a few years that I found out)

As a Musician, I know some people in the Industry who have a level of fame, such as appearing on TV, or having their music played on Radio

So anyone else?

I'm distantly related to Donald and Kiefer Sutherland. Through marriage, and the way my dad told it to me it's quite distant....like Donald Sutherland's sister married my great-uncle's grandson or something.

My father-in-law's cousin is Rod Stewart. Not THE Rod Stewart, but another guy named Rod Stewart. ;)

Actually, though, this Rod Stewart has a small claim to fame. When he was in high school he was part of the Beach Boys before they became famous. His parents made him quit the band because they didn't think it would ever amount to anything.

Nobody comes to mind. As a consequence of working in TV news, I know people who are on television regularly but those are "local celebrities" at best.

A very close family friend is a recent Oscar winner. I'm not comfortable identifying them other than to say it's someone well known. Very nice, very cool person. I'd be a huge fan even without the connection.

Dunno if its what you guys had in mind, but i know the local mob boss quite well. Although, i don't work for him or anything like that.

EDIT: come to think of it, i know one of the seven people who have cracked the computer system of the swedish national police (SÄPO).

I was introduced to Robin Curtis (Saavik from Star Trek 3 and 4) on my birthday at a convention once. After spending several minutes talking to her, she got up during her time at the autograph table and had the entire convention sing happy birthday to me.

Does this count?

I work at a restaurant that's partially owned by a 'famous' person. His mother comes in all the time, and he sometime stops by and eats and chats. He's married to another 'famous' person who comes with him, as well.

I know someone who isn't a celebrity or politician, but he comes from a famous family. Would that count?

In the late 70s I knew most Motown artist. Today only a Grammy winning Bluesman who is currently doing the music for the TV series Memphis Beat would know me by name, I was his mailman for a while.

I distantly knew a current NFL star when we both were in high school (we attended the same school. I knew his younger brother much better.

Poor kid.

I could introduce myself as my dad's daughter and have many pro basketball and baseball personnel from the St. Louis area back in the day remember me as the were guest ibn our home often.

And I'm really good for a game of "Six Degrees of..." because of a gal I was in high school and college with.

I used to work for a cabinet minister in Ottawa a few years ago. Last week, while visiting the city and attending Question Period, he saw me in the gallery and was waving, trying to get my attention. After a moment, one of the security guards pointed him out to me.

Err.. me mam dated Bob Carolgees for a bit, but that'll only mean anything to a small percentage of 30yo + Brits.

So no.
