This was a teaser, focused on telling us the setting and reminding us who the characters are.
In a couple months another trailer will come out filled with money shots and a more focused look at the plot.
I guess the fine line between teasers and trailers have become blurred somewhat.

Including voodoo-style zombies makes sense if they land in Haiti.
The trailer looked good. Nothing spectacular though. After the last two I'm cautiously optimistic.

I'm a huge fan of the first three, and this looks like it should be at least as good as they were. I'll admit I was a little skeptical when they first announced this, but I always am any time a movie series goes past three movies.

@Caliburn24...this was a full trailer. A teaser is like a thirty second or a minute video literally teasing us with aspects of the movie. This was a full 2 minute 30 second plus trailer showing us not only the characters but the plot of the movie and the scope of the film. I don't know what's hard to understand about this. The plot was revealed in this trailer...Jack is searching for the Fountain of Youth, this has been known for quite sometime. It also showed snippets of potential action sequences in the film as well. You are correct that there will most likely be a second trailer in a few months perhaps showing more action oriented scenes but all the stuff you cite in your post WAS shown in the trailer.

Agreed. The title and premise (Jack Sparrow searching for the fountain of youth? Neat) are really cool. That trailer was not.

Hm. No. I would say there WEREN'T zombies. Merely cursed. And they still had their intellect. And they didn't crave BRAAAINNNSSS.

Didn't look TOO bad. I enjoyed the original, but found the second one tedious at best, and never bothered with the third.

Does anyone else think that girl at 1:25 and 2:00 looks like Keira Knightley? I'm worried about those scenes with her and that boy that she is making eyes at. I had really hoped that there wouldn't be a cheesy romance this time!
What happened to Barbossa's pirate clothes? Did he become a privateer?

It looks fun. My first reaction was, it seems a little toned down in scope from the epic mess that was films 2 and 3. I didn't see any gigantic mythic creatures or messy effects shots. That's a good thing, I think.

Looks good to me. Zombies are a part of Carribean lore and is part of voodoo legend. The first one dealt with the undead, I don't see the big deal.

Yes, they are. It remains to be seen how these zombies fare, voodoo inspired or horror-brains zombies. I like the look of this, a dash of monsters, lots of pirates and Capt. Jack. Definitely worth a look, more so than The Tourist, I imagine.

Looks great to me and I can't wait to see it, but then not only do I love all three of the films, At World's End is my favorite of the three. However, I'm willing to concede The Curse of the Black Pearl is a better standalone film, but At World's End is so damn...FUN! That and I really got into the mythology.

I noticed that, too, and it's the one thing I'm worried about. While I enjoyed Will and Elizabeths's story, I'm glad it's done and they're not returning. I actually enjoyed the sequels, and this one looks like it'll be the best one since the first one.
