What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw?

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

My earliest memory of Star Trek, from my childhood, between 1973-75 was this scene of Uhura singing to Spock's lute, in Charlie X

I was blown away at how cool it was, & was hooked ever since

Trouble with tribbles

I think the first Trek I saw was probably one of the original series films, possibly The Undiscovered Country. That Klingon blood sticks in my mind.

Encounter At Farpoint, IIRC.

I remember the good old days of BBC 2, TNG on a Wednesday, DS9 Thursday, TOS Friday (although I never watched it) and Voyager on a Sunday.

Yeees!!! That was how I was introduced to Trek. It's a pity the BBC doesn't do reruns.

I remember sitting down as a family after dinner watching Encounter of Farpoint for the first time. Come to think of it, it was my Dad's fault I got hooked on trek. :techman:

I remember that too! It was like that when my best friend introduced me to Star Trek in 1996. Good times

Good times indeed. I remember being really excited when they aired All Good Things... That felt like a real event.

Not an episode, but when I was about 8 or so my father took me to see 'Generations' when it first came out. I didnt watch trek again for about 13 years.

I wonder why..?

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

My first glimpse of ST was The Naked Now, which was released on VHS in Germany in 1988 - two years before TNG premiered there. My brother had a birthday party, so that would've been February 3rd of that year. I saw the scene aboard the Tsiolkovsky, but my brother threw me out lest his little brother embarrass him in front of his 14-year old friends.

Two years later, when TNG finally did premiere in Germany, I saw Encounter At Farpoint and was less than impressed. It was The Squire of Gothos, another two years later, that turned me into a fan.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I have no idea what my first Star Trek episode was. I began watching TOS reruns in the early 70s and that was the first time I fell in love with the show and began watching it. I haven't stopped yet!

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

Well, it's been nearly 45 years since I saw my first TOS episode, and all I know is that it wasn't the pilot.

TNG: The unbearably dull Encounter at Farpoint.
DS9: The excellent Emissary.
YOY: Caretaker
ENT: Broken Bow

"The Man Trap," 1966, first run. I was 6 at the time. I thought the Salt Vampire was pretty scary, but liked the rest of the ep a LOT. The first eps seen of all the other series would be their pilots as well...

I admit, the first thing I looked for was Amok Time.

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I don't know what time I started watching Trek. My dad started watching TNG at some point in the early 90s, so it was definitley a primary component of my childhood.

So, the first episode I saw was definitley TNG, I know that much.

I watched The Apple in 1980. I was 6.

First episode I ever saw was Encounter at Farpoint when I was in the US at the time. Really interested me as I'm a bit of a futurist and loved all the sleek technology. It seemed an eternity for TNG to come to the UK but when it did I was hooked!

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

For me, it would have been a TOS episode and it was during the 70s.

I believe it was "The Menagerie" but can't be positive

Re: What was the first episode of any Star Trek show that you ever saw

I am very proud to say it was The Man Trap on September 8, 1966.
Ditto! I was a wee bugger of 5, but remember watching it with my mom and dad on the small black and white rabbit-eared TV that was our only TV until we got a color in 1970. It was always a treat when I got to go to my grandparents who had a color TV at the time and watch Star Trek there in color.
