Anybody else think Captian Sisko is a very good looking man?

2. Bashir. Bashir was slow to start, because he was kind of an insufferable dweeb at first. But there is no gettin' around the fact that Sid is a nice looking man, and once Bashir got over himself (about the time he and Miles got stranded together and started to become friends), he became more attractive as time went on.

Plus, he did have that British accent going for him - always a plus for most American girls (of which I am one).
I remember when the DVDs were first being released, and all the gals here were going ga-ga over seeing Siddig sporting a goatee and longer hair in the interviews.

I guess ya'll deserved it, seeing as how us guys got to see Terry in Hot Black Leather in her interviews!:D

[Send me a PM in a couple of days if you need to. Because now I really want to find him.

Your job! :p

Yes, ma'am, consider it done, ma'am!

Sisko. (since he is, after all, the topic). I thought Sisko was much sexier during the second half of the show. And while I prefer the shaved-head/goatee thing, that was only the outer trimmings which represented a much larger change that Avery Brooks was making to that character at the time.

Sisko had always been more of a badass than was, say, Picard...but Avery Brooks bumped it up a few notches during the second half, I thought...and really came across much more as a badass who would take no shit, and did not suffer fools (especially long-winded ones) lightly. I saw an edge given to Sisko that I'd never seen previous, and I liked it. And it made the character much sexier to me.

I always thought Avery Brooks was a nice looking man, but Sisko of the second half was much sexier.

As for some of the others...there are three other men of DS9 who really got my attention:

1. Bareil. I loved Bareil. Even Bad Boy Bareil. Very good looking, but he also had that whole religious mysticism thing going for him and I liked that. He was not naive or anything - but wise and truly decent, with a splash of the mystical thrown in for interest.

For my money, Bareil was the most spongeworthy guy on the show.

2. Bashir. Bashir was slow to start, because he was kind of an insufferable dweeb at first. But there is no gettin' around the fact that Sid is a nice looking man, and once Bashir got over himself (about the time he and Miles got stranded together and started to become friends), he became more attractive as time went on.

3. Damar. You know, back in the day before most of you came to this board, the girls of this forum used to have an avatar we called "Time-share Casey". There was a reason for this: Casey Biggs is just pain HOT. Anyway, we used to take turns sporting this avatar - IIRC, we'd each get it for a month or so, in rotation, unless someone did something really kickass good, and then they immediately got to 'wear' Time-share Casey for a while as a reward.

Generally speaking, Cardassian makeup does NOTHING for me, in terms of sex appeal. Absolutely nothing. But Casey Biggs is such an utterly HOT guy that even with Cardassian makeup on, he was FINE. And of course, it helped a lot that the character of Damar was a 'bad boy'...and helped even more that he became 'bad-boy turns good' as the leader of/martyr for the Cardassian resistance.

The sex appeal of Damar is hard to resist. No doubt about it.

I need to go dig up Time-share Casey. I have him on a hard drive around here somewhere.....That avatar and the Delvian Chocolate Award used to be staples around this forum, years ago.

Very interesting post, and part of the interest is, of course, that I pretty much agree. :techman: Sisko started out OK - nice-looking man with a tragic past. But he got a lot better than OK as he became a strong and confident leader determined (even sometimes at the cost of his own ethical principles) to protect and defend the ideals and the people he cares about. I don't always agree with him, but come on - that's fabulously sexy.

While Bashir was originally a good-looking man (a very good-looking man) with a fab accent, he was a dweeb. And a twit. A smug, self-satisfied pretty-boy. But as he grew up, got a little edgier and a little rougher around the edges (and as Siddig became a better actor - he was not all that good in the beginning), he became a lot more attractive - although I must say that thanks to repeats and DVDs, I have never entirely forgotten what a dweeb he was.

Where I disagree a bit - though I'm dyin' to see Time-Share Casey - is about Casey Biggs/Damar. Casey was and is a perfectly fine-looking man, but...eh. I've seen better walking around the streets of Indianapolis. But Damar? He's hot. You gotta - or at least I gotta - love a man who hits bottom but then experiences...redemption, becoming - kind of like Sisko - a strong and confident leader determined (even sometimes at the cost of his own ethical principles) to protect and defend the ideals and the people he cares about. Just yummy.

As is Bareil, BTW.

Ah, I totally get where you're coming from now. I misunderstood what you were getting at. Sorry.

No, no - I was the one who was unclear. No problem.

Hey, aren't Teroknor and myself providing a much needed service with our Damar avs?

(incidentally, just how many 'Damar's' have there been on this board?)

Avery's a good looking guy. I'd imagine many people find his voice sexy as well.
I tend to think Bashir was the best looking of the male characters on DS9 though.

See? Something for everyone! :techman:

Okay, guys, I went through some old hard disks this afternoon and found one of the three things I was looking for. Can't find my CindyLouWho avatar ( ) or the Delvian Chocolate Award (although I'm not giving up on finding either!)...but I did find our old (and I do mean OLD, here, girls - keep in mind I'm pulling up on 8 years as mod of this forum in January, and we were using this back in the 2003-early 2004 era, before allowable avatar sizes where increased to reasonable levels) Time-share Casey avatar!

This, for me, is a total blast from the past. I can't even remember who made it, although my guess would be that I might have prevailed upon BigFoot to do it for me, as was my usual practice back in those days.

Anyway, if we want to do this or something like it again, it would obviously have to be an updated version - maybe you can have a supplemental avatar contest especially for this? It was a lot of fun having something like this to pass around the forum, and I think it would be fun to do it again, if you guys want. :)

While this isn't our tradition usually, in the US, I saw a photo like that in Band of Brothers in a German house (don't know if other countries do that), and I appreciated the solemnity of it as a memorial. I'm glad you like it. :)

And yeah, it would be fun to do an updated version of Time-Share Casey! :)

Moi -- want :D

I'll even try to come up with some offering for the competition, if we decide to have one...and if I find a program to make such a gif ;)

Can I see Time-Share Casey? Please? I've been a good girl! :D

(I'm still a Macet girl, myself--but I still would love to see it. :) )

You know, though...this may seem really, really, REALLY weird...but I found myself liking Li Nalas a lot, both in looks and personality. I think I liked him because he wasn't full of himself, yet at the same time was able to be strong when the moment required it. I actually thought he could have had a good relationship with Kira. They could relate to each other's experiences--yet at the same time I think he could have been a tempering influence on her.
It's not weird at all. Richard Beymer was always a very good-looking man, but before DS9, I knew him on Twin Peaks, and his character there, Benjamin Horne, was not just a massive jerk, but also had a very silly and pathetic persona. I remember that he used to really, really annoy me. I never found Benjamin Horne sexy. When I saw him on DS9 playing a completely different character, that was the first time I realized "Hey, this guy is actually attractive?!"

The pic on Memory Alpha really does not do the character justice at all, if you ask me. BTW, going to be sending you a PM with one more thing...
