i wouldn't want any of the deceased doctor's back unless they did a younger One, picking an actor who looks like Hartnell, but younger...
I should concede that while I would have no problem recasting the first three Doctors, I think it would have to be a brave, brave actor who would dare attempt to fill the shoes and scarf of Tom Baker, if he was still alive and simply refused to take part.
^Not only that, it would be incredibly insulting...
^ We already recently had 'Same Actor Plays 2 Versions of The Same Doctor' with 10 and 10b. We haven't had 2 or more different Doctors team up since The Two Doctors.
Multi Doctor story featuring the surviving Doctors; no cgi, no stand ins...
As for where the first three are?
"Ah, of course, I hadn't mastered the differnetial stabiliser on the TARDIS till my fourth incarnation..." Either that or make a comment about this problem neccesitating a certain level of maturity (lets face it the first three were awfully young!)
I just don't agree with these people who say "if they are still alive, then they should play the doctor role they used to." I don't agree with that..
the fourth doctor is owned by the BBC, not Tom Baker, so if the BBC decided to recast a similar look alike to play him then so be it.. same with CGI.. and even if they decided to offer the part to Tom Baker, it is their prerogative..
Why not do a multi-Doctor season with a huge, multi-Doctor arc?
See, that would be absolutely what I would do. Have Smith & Co. open the season. Then, devote the rest of the episodes to various past Doctors doing their solo thing, and come together for the two-part season finale/anniversary "The Eight Doctors".![]()
Can CGI turn Sylvester McCoy into a good actor?
As has David Troughton. Having them portray their respective fathers would be the only way I would accept a recast. However, that being said, Frazer Hines does a killer Second Doctor in the Big Finish Companion Chronicles.I'd like to see Sean Pertwee stand in for his dad but I understand that he's ruled that out.
Sean Pertwee is more like his dad than David Troughton is, but I would still find it odd. If Sean PErtwee was to be the Doctor then I'd want him to be the 12th or 13th Doctor, not doing an impersonation of the 3rd Doctor. I do believe he's said he'd never do it (though I think he'd quite happily be the Doctor, just not his dad).
I like The Wormhole's suggestion for a two parter multi-doctor story. I've not really seen that many Seven Doctor stories to have developed an opinion on him yet.
I will then kill myself, and anyone involved in said show..................
in that order?
