I don't really see why they had to make the New Gods elemental forces who need human hosts. I understand it from a practical sense and a budget sense but it seems lame. So far I'm pretty underwhelmed with the Apokiptlian plot I have to admit.

I just watched the trailer for "Luthor" and laughed my ass off when Lionel proclaims Clark to be "CLARK LUTHOR!!!" in a grandiose useless gesture. Did I just witness also Tess kissing Clark (her so called step sibling) or was that supposed to be Lois who was shown earlier with one of Ollie's cross bows with a Kryptonite tip. You know...as much as I want to avoid this episode, I might watch it like one watches the aftermath of a car wreck.

All of the above just irks me about this ep... I mean, , what does this have to do with him becoming Supes?

Seriously, they really DO need to address the issue of why he's called Clark in this alt-verse. Personally, I think it would've been far more appropriate if old Lion-El had named him 'Douche Luthor'.

Perhaps Jor-El told Lionel to name him Clark. I like the Ultraman logo on the shirt. What would be really cool would be a sort of Injustice League. Nah to cool an idea for Smallville.

This episode would have been far better if it was Clark as Ultraman and Lionel was the Alex Luthor in the this case. I could see Lionel through his Veritas connection finding the crashed spaceship first and it being revealed as Trekker 4747 has mentioned in the episode thread that he names Clark after Martha. It just irks me that they don't seem to think these things through in favor of wanting to do a 'kewl' episode. Also Kelly looks ugly with her hair dyed that dark. She looked way hotter as blonde.
