Did you not see any of their Atlantis appearances?

Okay...I'm not including Atlantis haters in that statement.
First Strike, Adrift and the next episode were some of the most powerful episodes Atlantis had seen since the debacle of the 2 second season and the Michael crap.

The ratings proved that...How it concluded...
Well you can thank Brad Wright for what ever went on behind scenes with Tori Higginson to that rather uneventful decline but it wasn't bad.

For a little perspective...First Contact Borg was AWFULLY written (along with the whole movie). Voyagers Unimatrix Zero....(UGH BADLY written) in perspective of canon and plot)

^ Speaking of ammo, why haven't we seen a zat'ni'katel on SGU? That would solve any ammunition issues, and I find it hard to believe that the Icarus expedition's equipment wouldn't have included zats. They managed to grab the case with the flamethrowers, after all; surely someone would have grabbed a case with weapons that don't rely on bullets!

Plus, I just really like the zats.

For some reason I don't care about the zats on way or another.

I doubt that the Replicators would eat the Destiny unless they were in desperate need of replication. Besides, as long as human form Reps don't show up, the crew can kill them with all the guns they have, at least until they run out of ammo.

Okay think about it.
SGU is a Drama...do you really think they wouldn't do the human form repli's?

Now adding a replicator to the crew would be interesting.

Plus certain writers have commented that the whole Zat rule of "one hit stun, two hit kill, three hit vaporize" is the worst piece of franchise mythology they ever came up with, and the one they would most like to get rid of.

I don't know; I think the "Ancients as boring robed humans from Earth" thing takes that prize.

I thought the Zat thing was handwaved away pretty soon after by implying the three-shot rule had to be in quick succession? that waiting even a minute or two dissipated the impact of each shot?

It's obvious ratings-bait to introduce more action. Which they sorely needed.

I don't think they need more action, what they really need is more adventure. There's an important difference. The other shows did more action with some adventure. Maybe switch things up and do more adventure with action playing the supporting role.

That would still distinguish this series from the other series and fit in nicely with the larger mission of figuring out Destiny's mission--not just what the mission generally is but actually completing something so epic.

Of course, it remains to be seen if this writing crew can do epic. If they can't, agree, stick with the action.

I'm just saying the common complaint is, "Boring" and "Dark" They've made Greer less of a JERK and perhaps in the future he'll be someone to root for and frankly he could be an easy action protagonist...

^ I've liked Greer since the start because he seems to someone who you could trust in battle to cover your back. He seems to be one of the few characters whose morals are clear, shoot evil people - a handy trait to have in the SG universe .

I hated Greer from the pilot, but halfway throught he first season I am liking him more and more, and now I love his charcter.
