Well that was a bit up and down. Loved the scene between Rani and her Dad, loved Sarah Jane's reaction to UNIT turning up, though it would be nice if she didn't hate them quite so much.
SJS and Jo meeting was well handled, although it really was difficult to reconcile Katy here with Jo Grant. I actually thought their reminices went on a little too long, but it was nice to see Pertwee and Baker.
Clyde...the guy's a legend, his banter with the Groske(?) was brilliant.
The bad. Was it just me, or did Tennant get more screen time than Smith?
The Shanshee; love the concept, and have no problem with them looking vulture like, but the realisation wasn't great. If they do appear in Who then some serious work needs to be done on the costumes.
Anyway, it was good but, like last year, it was just too long before the Doctor actually showed up!
It has to be an in-joke by now, but what is up with all last the names of either Smith or Jones in the Dr Who universe?
Russell T Davies is not a creative man. Which also goes some way to explaining why the Shansheeth are yet another big earth animal (like the Judoon, Spiderwoman...er, conkers).
Actually I'd agree, RTD isn't that inventive when it comes to coming up with character names. However I think in this instance we can cut him some slack given that Jo went off with Professor Jones at the end of The Green Death. She could have kept her own name I guess, that would have been the hippy thing to do, but on the whole it'd be more likely she'd take the name Jones.
And obviously RTD isn't responsible for Sarah Jane being a Smith, nor the fact that the Doctor often called himself John Smith.
Martha Jones and Micky Smith I'll give ya though!
