Donald Trump For President?

I used to work for The Donald. I wouldn't vote for him.

He's actually not a great businessman, at least not anymore. He's good at making deals and getting his name on developments, but operationally, he really doesn't get involved. Pretty much he makes a lot of money these days by licensing his name, not accurately assessing risk/reward and making bold investments.

Basically, electing him on the basis of his business acumen is like naming the Jolly Green Giant the Secretary of Agriculture because of his understanding of how farming works.

Bad idea. If I were living in the U.S, I wouldn't feel comfortable with someone with reality shows on their belt to be running for President. It reeks a publicity stunt. His toupee also has more personality.

Since that second-rate actor became the most first-rate President we've ever had, I wouldn't mind seeing how the Donald fares. Anything's better than the idiot we have now.
Yeah, better than Washington, Jefferson and the two Roosevelts put together. :rommie:

But in real life, of course, he was awful, and we're still suffering from the social damage that he did.

The Top 5 U.S. Presidents:

1. Reagan
2. Reagan (If Grover Cleveland can be counted twice, so should the Gipper)
3. John Wayne
4. Reagan (Governor is like being President)
5. George H.W. Bush (For Being President for a bit after Reagan was shot)
No Chuck Norris? :(

I can't wait to watch his new reality TV show "The Vice President."

Well, in Canada, there was a show called Canada's Next Great Prime-Minister. They had to compete in a lot of debates, and the idea was to have the winner win a position in governmental affairs. I know the person who won one year, and she's now a page.

I'd seriously consider voting for him... we need someone who knows how to make money grow, not vanish.

Donald Trump took a business where people walk in, hand you money, and walk out without gaining anything and managed to bankrupt it. This isn't the first time either, he's bankrupted several casinos (all while making money himself, of course). If government needs to be run like a business, he sure as hell should not be the one running it.

Love to see the Donald (somehow) as the candidate on the Democratic ticket. That way regardless if the Democrats or the Tea party/Republicans win the contest. the American people would win in the end.

.
Obama: Congratulations, Mr. President, on your overwhelming victory.
Reagan's electoral margin was up in the mid-nineties, Obama's was down in the mid-thirties.
Overwhelming victory? Please.

Really, I feel the exact opposite way. More specifically, I feel a little more dead inside every time I think about this possibility.

Donald Trump is an awful choice. He's an awful person and an awful businessman. Plus, he's a sexist to boot.

FDR won more electoral votes by percentage and also more of the popular vote. That must mean he was a better president than Reagan.

Other Presidents who performed better during elections than Reagan in 1984:

LBJ
Richard Nixon
Warren Harding
James Monroe
James Madison
Thomas Jefferson
George Washington

Reagan barely cracks the top 20%.

Well, when you consider how apathy towards matters politic has gone steadily up over the decades (excluding America since April 15, 2009, of course)...

To say nothing of the immense INCREASES in population over the decades (and centuries)....

Oh, dear God in heaven, please do whatever is necessary to prevent this catastrophe. I realize America isn't the manmade paradise, but surely we don't deserve THAT!

This. People rooting for him are simply blinded by his (inherited) wealth.

Why do you hate America? :(

Something tells me you didn't understand the joke.
