They are well into season one (I saw "Progress" the other day). I didn't know it was on there (and Virgin 1!) until I saw this amazing advertisement that mentioned and showed all the main DS9 races: Jem'Hadar! Bajorans! Klingons! Romulans! Vorta! Changelings! Parada! I'm not quite sure why the Parada were there, maybe they just liked "Whispers".

Yeah, the "Parada" or whoever they were in the advert had me totally stumped too. Maybe they should start randomly pushing one-shot aliens as main characters more often - it got my attention!

It should be on Sy-Fy but the dickheads at Spike won't give it nor show it.
Do they still have the broadcasting rights?

I wonder why they don't shot it after Voyager (or instead of for that matter)

I THINK it has something to do w/5 year rights to the show. V'ger has been on since Jan of 2007.

DS9 started its Spike trek in Jan of 2004 (I blv) and it ended in Dec of 2008. Didn't matter, it was on odd times when few ppl could watch.

Isn't it strange that DS9 is on three channels in the UK (Virgin 1, Bravo and now CBS Action) yet it doesn't seem to be on in the USA, the county where it was made? I would guess that its due to the fact that it got pretty much equal broadcasting to TNG here in the UK.

Well, I've flirted with the idea of moving to Vancouver in a couple of years, once I've nabbed my Liberal Arts AA. It's a good place to go if you're interested in acting and wouldn't mind having your face sprout up on some genre shows here and there.

It's on the to-do list, actually.

Virgin is very good and a great standby when there's sod all else on telly - you can always rely on either DS9 or Voyager showing a few times a day. Unfortunately Virgin's just been bought by Sky, so we're all buggered.

I do envy all that. You'd think the home turf for Trek would be better about this, but I attribute it to reruns being beaten into the ground with how much all these shows used to air in the States. I recall Voyager barely going into its third season and UPN starting the 'Five Flights A Week' schedule, with a rerun showing up every night at 10 or something. I mean, at the time I was a kid and I loved it, but I can see where the repetitious treatment of Trek (which is good for keeping people aware it exists, mind) can become an issue.

DS9 is really mistreated in the States, though. It's a shame, because you've got even the actors commenting on how blatantly more popular it is now than it was in the 90's, and even back then it was popular enough to go for seven seasons and all. But Spike, which has been the most devout station for airing Trek in the past several years, just doesn't air that one anymore and hardly did in the past compared to the other two TNG-era shows.

SyFy bought the rights to Enterprise and it's still pretty faithful on that one, and it (like G4 as well) sprinkles TNG in there all the time, too. I think SyFy should go after DS9, though. Even newer audiences to the franchise must be tuning out of all the TNG showings by now.

We are very fortunate in Canada --- the Space station airs ALL of the Trek series daily.

Which was great during High School, but I find I get less excited when I have TOS, TNG, and DS9 on DVD.

What are you talking about?

Simply the fact that Space airs Star Trek shows daily does't mean crap to me now that I have the DVDs. However in High School, I loved that it was on every day.

kthxbye

I have a great opportunity to download everything from internet in my country. So, I used it. I have downloaded all DS9(in English) from internet. And now, I am watching my favourite interstellar story on my PC. Sometimes It make bad influence on me, because I could watch several episodes per day.
I have big video library.
I have
*Star Trek - Original series, TNG, DS9, Enterprize(with Archer) all motion pictures
*Star Gate
*The big bang Theory
*Stephen Hawking
*Numb3rs
and etc.
