^ Agreed on both...although he at least saw her as worthy of actually elevating her to be his protege and naming her as CEO. We know that was also a ruse so he could use her to spy while he was gone. It's going to be interesting to see Tess interact with the crippled Luthor as it seems from the teaser that she's the one who discovers him still alive (again) and the clone tanks.

Tess would have been great as a background character prior to S8...like only Lex, Lionel or Oliver would interact with her up until S8.

I was thinking that when I made my first rant about her...introduced at first as a reoccurring role but whatever they can just retcon her already. It'd be interesting to see her in the DCU, Tess written by Paul Cornell would be spectacular.

I can see Tess starting in S5 Lionel and Lex dealing with her...S6-7. Lionel, Lex & Oliver dealing with her...then BOOM! She is the head of LuthorCorp S8.

[edit] I can see her dealing with Lionel early on and then Lex coming in and dealing with her...Cassidy Freeman is way better than Anna Galvin(Gina). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anna_Galvin

I wanted to like Gina(Anna Galvin) but the writers screwed up yet again.

[edit 2] I just had a crazy thought thanks to the V thread...get Gene Hackman to play Lachlan Luthor who escaped death!? Now just appears in S10.

Brilliant! ...but if they can't afford (all of) Terance Stamp, how the hells could they afford Hackman?

He owes Superman fans this. ;) ...If Chris R. could...twice...Gene H. can give us something once. He retired in 2004 and no SMALLVILLE!?

    They can't afford Hackman.

    [edit]

I can imagine a small scene with Tess and a bigger one with Clark...

Clark: I thought you were dead!?

    Lachlan: I'm a Luthor...

We are talking about a man who has worked along side giants in the industry like Will Smith.

I would buy Gene Hackman as Lachlan Luthor for a special guest appearance but there's no way the CW could afford his salary demands and I seriously doubt he would do television...especially a niche show like Smallville is. As for Tess...I would haven't introduced her that far back. I would have integrated her like they have done Ollie Queen. Make her the head of Luthor Corps R and D division and have her matching the Luthor's. Lex sees her potential and uses her in his war against Lionel and viola she becomes his protege.

I honestly believe Gene would do SMALLVILLE but the writers & and producers couldn't come up with something compelling enough for him to do it.

Tess maybe S6...S5 may be too early but she could have fit into S6/S7 before becoming a S8 heavy hitter.

Yeah season six would be good place for her to start...and I'd have Tess as I said in charge of the R&D and come up with all this innovative technology which brings her to Lex's attention, he starts working with her and machinations and schemes are hatched against Lionel. After Lionel's death Lex promotes Tess to COO and after Lex disappears she emerges as the acting CEO showing the board proof that this was written into Lex's will should he disappear or die that Tess inherits LuthorCorp. Over the course of the two seasons...Tess has minimal encounters with Clark and finds him interesting and is attracted to him. Lex knows this early on and discourages her from presuing a relationship with Clark saying that he'll only let you down, that's what he does.

what about Progeria Clone Lex running amok.

A couple episodes each showing off each generations Lex Luthor. Make an arc following half a season, start with that kid from the flash backs in season 7 or 8, bring in Michael Rosenbaum, shift into John Shea and then finally Hackman who dies before our eyes... but then after the dust settles, we see another clone rise up out of a tank or whatever to begin his life cycle in a mirror image of what we just went through twilight zone style.

I know all the bad ideas.

Yeah I can see all that. As I have mentioned Tess(Cassidy Freeman) is what could have been done with Gina(Anna Galvin)...but the writers really dropped the ball.

[edit] I honestly don't believe the writers and producers don't think 2-3 seasons ahead wear they are...I think TPTB with SMALLVILLE are sloppy at best.

I don't think they think 2 or three episodes ahead.

Anna was frothing with lust for Lex while she was trying to be the good servant. It was very heavy in my mind. I wondered if that was her choice or the Directors? Try to imagine how batman would play out if Alfred kept trying to Sleep with Bruce Wayne (isn't the plot of the nanny? no, not the Butler, the Nanny.God save me from your mind.), however Ultimate Edwin Jarvis (an alternate universe Butler tot he Avengers) was blazing and camp and lascivious to a fault while he kept alluding to needing to sleep with every bloke with a pulse... Which if you consider half the dialogue the Wasp ever spurted, isn't any worse than the crushing and sexual harassment she lobbied against all the big chested boys saving the world in the 60s.

Thor should have sued her ass.

    There's a double standard here.

Gina is Tess...S7 writers stike F*d Up.

Oh Man I can't get Janeway/Chloe(Ensign Chloe) out of my mind...

[edit] I kinda feel Tess is the one the Luthors were grooming to take the fall if something happened...that is how I would have played it out.

Not ringing a bell. So we'd write out that part of it and include the proposal I wrote and this is how we'll introduce her? I might include this in my Alternate Smallville project.
