Speaking of Hawaii 5-0... we WERE speaking ...

JanewayRulz!

Vice Admiral
Admiral
... of Hawaii 5-0, weren't we?

If you could bring back any old TV series (except Trek) and recast it with actors from Voyager, which show/shows would you bring back and where would you place our intrepid crewmen?

(You don't have to use everyone, but extra points if you do!)

The best suggestion will receive a collective "ahhhh" from the board. :techman:

The ORIGINAL I Love Lucy Show!

Starring Kathryn Janeway as Ricky Ricardo

AND..

Seven of Nine as Lucy herself!

Also starring..

Chakotay as Lucy's Best Friend, Ethel Mertz

Neelix as Ethel's Husband Fred Mertz

and Featuring as Guest Star..

The Doctor as Little Ricky

Kathryn Janeway plays the very charming and magnetic Ricky Ricardo. He works hard to support his beautiful wife and keep her out of trouble but sometimes things spin out of control..

Seven of Nine as Lucy is his wacky wife, flouncing into one series of mishaps after another. Lucy can light up any scene!

[Think Seven when she was drunk]

Lucy's best friend is the dowdy but dependable Ethel Mertz, played by Chakotay. A perfect foil for Lucy's zaniness Ethel fails spectacularly to keep her on the straight and narrow, instead getting caught up in one hair brained scheme after another.

Long suffering Fred Mertz played by Neelix is Ethel's husband. He's helpless as his wife gets dragged behind Lucy's whirlwind of wackiness.

And you will never forget that cute tyke Little Ricky played by The Doctor with his typical charm and pith.

I love the "I love Lucy" idea, but I have some "serious" qualms about the plot.

If Lucy is Seven and Neelix is her best friend Ethel, and Rickie is Kate and Chakotay is her best friend "Fred"... does that mean that the writers will try to insinuate a hetero subtext between Fred and Rickie, and another one between Seven and Ethel?????

Do you think network TV is ready for that?:wtf:

(I know Ethan Phillips would be all for it!)

Regarding Happy Days... who's the Scott Baio replacement?

The Big Valley portrayed the adventures of the Barkleys, a wealthy ranch family in California's Central Valley in the 1870s. The Barkley holdings, all 30,000 acres, included mines, vineyards, orchards, cattle, and property in Mexico. "The Big Valley" was the first and only Western TV series built around a strong female character. Another important plot device in the series was the presence of Heath, the illegitimate son of the dead patriarch Tom Barkley. His life experiences, which contrasted so sharply from the other family members, were the source of many story lines. The series debuted on ABC on September 22, 1965.

Victoria Barkley: Widowed 6 years ago and the undisputed matriarch of the clan, often seen with a black hat, skirt, riding crop in hand on her favorite horse, will be played by KATHYRN JANEWAY.

Jarrod Barkley: The eldest son and lawyer, splits his time between the buisness interests of the family empire and the outside legal interests will be played by NEELIX.

Nick Barkley: 2nd oldest son who runs the Barkley Ranch Holdings and wears lots of Black hats/vests, will be played by THOMAS EUGENE PARIS.

Heath Barkley: illegitimate son of the dead patriarch who grew up in poverty and only learned of his Father on his Mother's death bed, will be played by HARRY KIM.

Audra Barkley: The only (known) daughter who's full of herself and rightly so, will be played by SEVEN OF NINE.

Eugene Barkley: Youngest son who's prematurely balding and only seen in 8 episodes before he leaves for medical school will be played by THE EMH

Silas: Butler/Major Domo ( and secret lover to the matriarch???) to the Barkley household will be portrayed by TUVOK

Miranda: One of only 2 overt lovers of a Barkley who didn't die a horrible and ghastly death. She fell in love with Nick, but had to leave to "help her people" (according to the website I'm stealing all of this stuff from... except the secret lover stuff, that's MY invention ;) ) will be played by B'ELANNA TORRES.

Maria: The only other known lover who didn't die, will leave Heath with a long goodbye, and will be played by LINDSAY BALLARD.

Sheriff Fred Madden: One of the few law men seen in these here parts, will be played by CHAKOTAY.

I think Silas will have some competition.

Oh and guess what wiki claims.....

Film columnist Patrick Goldstein reported in the Los Angeles Times in July 2009 that filmmakers Daniel Adams[and Kate Edelman-Johnson are producing a feature film version of The Big Valley with production to begin in April 2010 in New Mexico and Michigan.

And here I thought I was being "original".

No no.. Ethel is played by Chakotay. Chakotay is the dowdy best friend of Lucy, the one who always tries to rein her in. Don't worry, J/7'ers Lucy/7 does NOT want to bonk Ethel/Chakotay in my scenario, LOL

And yeah the subtext is just 'sploded when you mix the genders

I feel I slightled B'Elanna in my last attempt at recasting old shows.

I think she could easily pull off the character of Sgt Leanne "Pepper" Anderson as an undercover agent working for the criminal conspiracy unit of the LAPD in "Policewoman".

B'Elanna could easily pull off that famous opening credit scene where all we see is her legs walking down the stairs.

As for who else plays in this show... does anyone even REMEMBER who else played in that show!?! ;)
