President of the TrekBBS

*votes for Zion Ravescene*

At last! Someone who accepts my doctrine of anarchy!

Welcome! Remember, a vote for anarchy is a vote for no-one and everyone! :bolian:

If you're not an anarchist at 20, you won't have the energy to be TrekkBBS Voyager Forum moderator at 40

Hell, I didn't have the energy when I was 20 and was modding the forum.

So, don't listen. His argument is flawed.

VIVA JENEE!

President, schmesident.............

We need a Dictator for Life here at the TrekBBS.

Let the fighting in the streets commence!

And while the Struggle For Power continues, Holdfast is busy picking out the decor for the Fortress Of Solitude that will be his seat of power once his Evil Plan has played out and everyone else has fallen by the wayside.

Meanwhile, ZR gambols about in a field somewhere in an anarchic state of freedom and bliss. Until he gets hungry.

ITL, however, gets a slap upside the head for using the present tense far too much.

:D

If there is anyone out there who still doubts that Trekbbs is a place where all things are possible; who still wonders if the dream of our founders, Christian and Saleel, is alive in our time; who still questions the power of our democracy, tonight is your answer.
It's the answer told by lines that stretched around forums and subforums in numbers this message board has never seen; by people who waited three hours and four hours, many for the very first time in their lives, because they believed that this time must be different; that their voice could be that difference.
It's the answer spoken by young and old, rich and poor, Democrat and Republican, black, white, Latino, Asian, Native American, gay, straight, disabled and not disabled - Trekbbsers who sent a message to the world that we have never been a collection of Miscellaneous and TNZ Forums: we are, and always will be, the Trekbbs.
It's the answer that led those who have been told for so long by so many to be cynical, and fearful, and doubtful of what we can achieve to put their hands on the arc of history and bend it once more toward the hope of a better day.
It's been a long time coming, but tonight, because of what we did on this day, in this election, at this defining moment, change has come to Trekbbs.
I just received a very gracious call from Holdfast. He fought long and hard in this campaign, and he's fought even longer and harder for the message board he loves. He has endured sacrifices for Trekbs that most of us cannot begin to imagine, and we are better off for the service rendered by this brave and selfless leader. I congratulate him and [insert running mate here] for all they have achieved, and I look forward to working with them to renew this message board's promise in the months ahead.
I want to thank my partner in this journey, a poster who campaigned from her heart and spoke for the men and women she grew up with on the streets of the Voyager forum and rode with on that train home to TNZ, the Vice President-elect of the Trekbbs, Adm Hawthorne.

Trekbbs, we have come so far. We have seen so much. But there is so much more to do. So tonight, let us ask ourselves - if our children should live to see the next century; if my daughters should be so lucky to live as long as RGDiogenes, what change will they see? What progress will we have made?
This is our chance to answer that call. This is our moment. This is our time - to put our posters back to posting and open doors of opportunity for our kids; to restore prosperity and promote the cause of peace; to reclaim the trekbbs Dream and reaffirm that fundamental truth - that out of many, we are one; that while we breathe, we hope, and where we are met with cynicism, and doubt, and those who tell us that we can't, we will respond with that timeless creed that sums up the spirit of a people:
Yes We Can. Thank you, God bless you, and may God Bless the Trekbbs.

What? too soon?

Like I said: new people but same old words. Literally.

If you want real change, you need to blow the dam.

End this tedious cycle of new promises that never materialise.

End the corruption that absolute power delivers.

End the idea of "one person, one vote; I'm that person, only I have that vote."

Time for us to live for ourselves in harmony and joy, instead of jumping through hoops and begging for mercy from a figurehead who hears but neither listens nor cares nor does.

Vote for none of these pretenders. Only then will you be the ruler of your world. :D

*runs through the thread holding a sign featuring a semi-nude Jeri Ryan with the words "Vote for Jenee and see more of this in the Voyager Forum" scrawled at the bottom of the pic*

Join me and I will show you honor..join the others and you abandon all Klingon law!:klingon::lol:

If elected, I promise free Ice Cream for everybody. Plus free love and free sex.

In fact, if elected, I will abolish money. EVERYTHING will be free.

The coincidence that I will become rich shortly after this has nothing to do with anything.:shifty:

Ya lost me after possible. I'll vote for anyone that makes shorter speeches.

However this whole thing shakes out I'd like to be named Embarassing Drunken In-Law to the President.

I think I'm just sauced-up and malfeasant enough to bring some real infamy back to the Office.
