I remember being more caught up in the whole "Wow, this'll be the first time in a long time that no new Trek is on the air" to notice the plot.
However, it didn't take long after the NX-01 flew off towards that nebula for me to start analyzing and picking apart. I think the thing that bugged me, TNG fan that I am, is that this final send-off to the NX-01 and Archer, and possibly to Trek as a television program (as I thought at the time) was used to focus on Riker resolving inner conflict during The Pegasus, which, while good, isn't exactly a banner episode for TNG.
I'd still celebrate, if only to show that the memory of Trek, and the spirit and reasons I watched it, are still there.
That said, I think it was an okay episode, as long as I accept that it took place in the holodeck.
