Star Trek Phase II- how can I watch this?

So, it affected you and drove you to tears even though other actors were in the TOS character roles? Is that actually possible? ;)

You know, sometimes you people can be really condescending toward any dissenting opinion. I don't know if you meant it that way, but it does kinda seem like that comment may have been aimed more in my direction than his. Am I not allowed to have my own opinion? Because I just got reamed in a PM by someone who had sent me some links to other fan productions; I thanked him but said that I watched "In Harm's Way" and didn't think the acting was very good, and he accused me of "self-justifying" and acting superior. If that's what I'm doing, I seem to be in good company. I just spent an hour downloading WEAT, just to make sure that I'm giving this thing a fair shake, but I'm afraid that if I end up liking it, and say so, it'll just give you people an excuse to feel more superior.
Okay, I get that in the written word, tone can be misinterpreted, and maybe you've misinterpreted mine just as much, but in more than just that one sarcastic remark, it really seems like coming onto a Phase II-related thread (and mind you, when I came on it was in the TOS board, so I thought it may have been about the old unmade series) and saying simply that it's not the same as TOS (which it's objectively not) gets you treated like a second-class citizen. Maybe I'm just over-sensitive because people who don't like STXI get treated that way by a lot of people around here, so I'm sorry if that's not how you meant it. But I think that jabs like that are a pretty good way to drive away people who are trying to be open-minded.

Here's the most important walkaway from my earlier post:

"I understand the 'you can't recast and still call it Star Trek' notion. It's an important concern and not easily dismissed. But we took the position...that other actors can assume the roles and tell further Trek-ish adventures....We don't think the untangible 'flavor' of Star Trek is so inextricably bound to the original actors; art design, props, sets, make-up, costumes, lighting, cinematography, writing, sound, visual effects, and music make up a not-inconsequential part of the Star Trek flavor....[But] we understand it's an acquired taste and that it is simply unpalatable to some people."

I can't speak for other supporters of our fan-based efforts and how polite or respectful they might or might not have been in PMs.

I really do understand that the original actors are an integral and inextricable piece of Star Trek for a lot of people. I get that. I would defend people's right to not watch our silly but love-filled fake Star Trek show. I also understand that for others, having new actors portray the characters isn't a show-stopper.

But you don't think that your own line about "Is that actually possible?" might have come off as just a tad snarky?

All I'm saying is, I already am giving this a chance. You don't need to try to logic me into it, because the thing that's going to convince me or not is the show itself, which I am about to watch right now. So you can stop with the hard sell, alright?

Yeah, that's the one I meant.
So... didja see it???
I eagerly await your review.

Are you sure? Even if my review isn't positive?

Well, I'll say diplomatically that I didn't have quite the same reaction as you (or Joss Whedon), but it was entertaining as homage.
It was certainly a great improvement from "In Harm's Way," and if they can keep up that rate of progress, they should be a force to be reckoned with in later shows (shame about the recasting though).

It's worth repeating here that the opening teaser and the first portion of Act I have been released on "Enemy: Starfleet!"--the follow-up episode to "Blood and Fire, Part 2."

Although the full episode isn't finished yet, you can find our teaser here:
