Mmmhmm, but then it was. Hence my saying.Well firstly, the wink smiley is rarely put to any use other than the acceptable face of forum condescension.
Except when it's not?
No, people are attacking me if they resort to labelling and name calling rather than arguing the points at hand. It's not a difficult distinction really. Worth learning.Bones, that's all you EVER say to anyone around here. Their opinion is unimportant, yours is paramount. You have full volume opinion privileges, everyone else is attacking you if they do the same. Case in point, please see your response at the bottom.Secondly, if I came up with a simile to the effect of you're a daft twat who should be ignored, you'd be offended.
"Ming-mong" is usually taken to be a derogatory term for someone with Down's syndrome. If you don't know the instance to which I'm referring, it's when RTD once called all his critics in fandom that term. I was reminded of it with your Asperger's jibe. I don't think it's appropriate to joke about disability in that way.I don't know what "ming-mongs" are. Some baby talk for "whiny twat", I imagine. And, in that case, yes. I think it's perfectly fine, but then I don't live in your overly-sensitive drama-queen universe.
The accusations that because I state a point of view that often differs from yours or perhaps the majority (the majority here at least) means I'm negative, bitter, and looking for an argument for its own sake is not only untrue and a cheap attempt to dismiss any point I might make out of hand, but also tiresome. As I have to point out worryingly often these days, if you prefer name calling to a reasoned debate about the show, then it reflects worse on you.Yawn.You're always looking for an argument, Bones, otherwise you wouldn't just blast every little thing as negatively as possible, in the middle of threads where people are having a nice, positive discussion. You interject bitter negativity in every thread, condescend anyone who thinks otherwise, and then act surprised and offended when someone says something back to you with equal negativity...![]()
Thanks for proving my point. I'll get started on the "daft twat who should be ignored" smiley, but I'm not certain I can get your avatar that tiny.....
You're right, those accusations are out of hand. Your negativity and your bitterness have nothing to do with your opinions. The accusations that because I state a point of view that often differs from yours or perhaps the majority (the majority here at least) means I'm negative, bitter, and looking for an argument for its own sake is not only untrue and a cheap attempt to dismiss any point I might make out of hand, but also tiresome.

Yup I've noticed this, Bones turns up, thoughts oodles of negativity around then, if someone dares to call him on it immediately gets very defensive.
I'm not calling Bones childish, but there is something childish about the attitude at times.
Maybe he's really Squire Trelayne![]()
Sorry, but I have to disagree. The pattern tends to be Bones turns up and throws lots of negativity around about an episode, then a few folks disagree with one or two throwing in personal digs that Bones takes ... personally.
Things around here would progress a lot more smoothly if Bones would just blow off the personal digs, but then it'd also go better if they weren't there in the first place.
Generally, Bones is infuriatingly harsh on episodes the rest of us love, but he/she is really good at digging out plot holes and inconsistencies. Bones and I have a bit of a running disagreement regarding the sonic screwdriver, but I've avoided calling him/her a mule-headed kill-joy. Aside from pointing out what a delightful spirit of good-will I am, I also use this as an example of a tolerant and open-minded approach to dealing with Bones' contributions.
Mirrorball man says you can.^ Sport and TV are two totally different things, you can't compare the two IMO but my point again are the people who hate the "majorty" of what they see from Who and still watch.
