Cast the Characters of Trek Literature

Christopher Heyerdahl as Leonard James Akaar

Sarah Shahi as Lonnoc Kedair

Gigi Edgley as Aili Lavena

Wayne Pygram as the voice of Dr. Ree

Adewale Akkinuoye Agbaje as Zak Kebron

Jaime Ray Newman as Christine Vale

Tim DeKay as Sam Bowers

Ben Browder as M'kn'zy Calhoun

Christopher Heyerdahl as Leonard James Akaar

I could see that.

Sarah Shahi as Lonnoc Kedair

Hmm, she's popular this week.

Gigi Edgley as Aili Lavena

A little young for the part, I think. Keep in mind that Lavena has completed her child-rearing stage of life, which lasts for a couple of decades following maturity. That would make her somewhere around 40.

Tim DeKay as Sam Bowers

Wrong ethnicity. Bowers is of African descent.

I think the guy who plays Shepard in Stargate Atlantis would make a good Calhoun. He looks quite a bit like him on the cover of the New Frontier Captain's Table book.

Christopher Heyerdahl as Leonard James Akaar

^I could see that as well. Either him or Vladimir Kulich (he also seems to be a popular choice).

Some others I forgot to mention last time around:

McKenzie Calhoun: Hugh Jackman

Jon Stephens (aka Lady Q) (see Before Dishonor): Jon Heder (I don't think anyone's come up with a suggestion for this character yet!)

Renan Konya: Brandon Routh

Dennisar: Domenick Lombardozzi

Sonek Pran: Ron Glass

Voice of Second-Gen White-Blue: Nicholas Briggs

Voice of Second-Gen Cyan-Gray: Jessica Strauss (the voice of EVA in the Tiberium Universe settings of the Command and Conquer games, or at least in Tiberian Sun)

Here's some more New Frontier...

Si Cwan - Christopher Judge

M'k'n'zy Calhoun - Ben Browder or Joe Flanigan

Soleta - Julia Stiles

I tried to give her Vulcan eyebrows, but I'm not sure if I got the angle right.

Cool! I'm still trying to get the hang of Photoshop. Is there anyone else anybody wants me to make? I'm having alot of fun, and I'll gladly do more.

A few more:

Ensign Jill Rosado (Enterprise-E beta-shift operations officer in Losing The Peace): Isabella Rossellini (she is described as being in her 50s, and she did have a career before joining Starfleet)

Ranul Keru: Khris Scaramanga (albeit with facial hair, and slightly longer hair on the top of his head)http://westhollywoodtrainer.com/files/khris-main.jpg

Si Cwan: Rodrigo Santoro

No. Rosado is described in Losing the Peace as being close to Picard's age, and her first career, as a university librarian, lasted almost 50 years.

Some thoughts on the not-on-screen Aventine characters:

Sam Bowers: Lance Reddick ("The Wire," "Fringe")
--A bit wirier than some of the other choices, but I've seen him pull off a command role well in more than one performance.

Mikaela Leishman: Jewel Staite ("SG: Atlantis," "Firefly")
--A bit of a cheap-out given her genre pedigree, but I sort of see Mikaela as Kaylee Frye and Jennifer Keller thrown into a blender anyway...

Lonnoc Kedair: Sasha Alexander ("NCIS")
--Her NCIS character had the right bit of snark for Lonnoc, particularly thrown to Michael Weatherly's character, and I think she fits the bill physically.

Gruhn Helkara: David Tennant ("Doctor Who")
--A couple of Gruhn's science-rants in the novels seemed a bit Tenth Doctor-ish, and like Alexander for Kedair, Tennant has the right physical match for the reedy Zakdorn.

I don't know about Reddick playing Bowers, but I could see him as Zett Nilric from Vanguard. I may be wrong, but I believe that one of the novels described him as looking "skeletal" or something similar, and Reddick certainly fits that description.
