Speaking of thrift--I found a poster-sized (24"x36") print of Edvard Munch's The Scream, framed under glass, for 25 dollars at a thrift store.
The frame and glass alone would probably cost at least 200 dollars new. I can't believe my luck.![]()
I'm not buying any bloody thing I don't have to for a week or so - had to spend about £380 fixing the car's electric windows earlier this week.![]()

Yay for my car not having power locks or power windows. Less things to break.

Congrats on your find. I have found many worthwhile items in thrift shops. They are call op shops here (op being short for opportunity.
That said I don't like The Scream.

You know what really cheesed me off? It broke less than a week after the car was in for a service. The more paranoid side of my nature was intrigued by the coincidence...![]()
The even more annoying thing is the lack of any sort of "manual override". Last Sunday was really hot. While waiting for the A/C to warm up (well, cool down, but you know what I mean), I wound the window down. Halfway down, a horrid noise, and the window stopped moving either up or down. And no way to manually force it shut.

I think this is the universe telling you to get a new car. You know you want to. The new RS5 is mighty nice.I'm not buying any bloody thing I don't have to for a week or so - had to spend about £380 fixing the car's electric windows earlier this week.![]()

So I had to take it to the dealer then and there, wasting an hour of my weekend, because I couldn't very well leave it parked at home with an open window waiting to be stolen... and they didn't have a courtesy car free to loan me for the Monday while it was being repaired.

What's the commandment about not coveting your neighbor's goods? I think I just broke it.![]()
Yeah, I've been coveting my brother-in-law's Weber for the past 2 years, which is ultimately what got me to break down and buy one for myself.
If you listen very carefully, I think you might hear something ..., very feint ..., calling ... calling to you ....
Haaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnsssssssooooooonnnnnnnnn, it's saying ..., Haaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnsssssssooooooonnnnnnnnn ..., coooooommmmeeee tooooo theeee daaaaaaaaarrrrrrk siiiiiiiiiiiiiide.![]()

I really couldn't hear it over the new Honda lawnmower with twin blades that's been whispering in my other ear.![]()

That happened to my dad. He pulled his truck in the garage and got the door panel off and started fumbling with the mechanism. I didn't think he knew those words.![]()

Did you re-mortgage the house? Seriously, do you people have money to burn? My wife's credit cards are maxed out and I can't get one yet with a decent limit, so I can't even afford to buy the Pandigital Novel, a Nook, or a Kindle, let alone an iPad.

What would be the perfect wine pairing?
I feel that babies should be sacrificed at the altar of this wonderful new god.
Sacrificed, then marinated & grilled.
