I've always had inexpensive grills, and they've been just fine. But, I finally got to the point where I was tired of rebuilding their innards every couple of years and buying a new grill every 4 or so. So, I decided to just really go for it for once.

Makes sense to me. I figure I'll do this once I eventually buy my own place. I try to limit the number of heavy, awkward things that I have to move.

That also makes sense.

It's funny, years ago when I moved cross country I got rid of nearly every major item I owned and took only what would fit in my little pick-up truck. It was stressful at first, but then incredibly liberating. I LIKED not being tied down by stuff. Then I lived in the same place for 9 years, got married, and when I moved I couldn't believe how much crap I had accumulated.

Keeping it light is a very good idea. :techman:

But, I still love my grill. :p

It's my presciousssssssss ....

What's the commandment about not coveting your neighbor's goods? I think I just broke it.

As for me, I visited the local NHL franchise's end of season warehouse sale. Picked this up:

List price - $209, my price - $37.50.

I have to load up on the Sakic blade pattern now that he's retired, I don't know how long they'll continue to make it.

$140 for a doctor's visit for them to refill my prescription and take blood.

Ouch. Doesn't your health insurance take care of any of that? Last time I had a physical, I went in for the bloodwork and was only out $20 for the copay.
It would if I had any, but I have only moved to the US in the last six months and the company I work for is too small to get health insurance, there is me and the boss, and the CFO is leaving soon. Hopefully I'll join my wife's insurance when she's a student, but since I have epilepsy, I'll have to wait a year before I get the copay.

Hell, I can't even get a credit card from my own dang bank because I only just moved here. Might try another bank since I seriously need the leeway a credit card provides.

Yesterday I received two books in the post. They were

The Flying Book by David Blatner which was recommended by someone in a Trekbbs thread

Cryptozoology A to Z - by Loren Coleman and Jerome Clark.

Today I ordered three books - two were for me, one was for a friend. My books were

Dark Tide: The Great Boston Molasses Flood of 1919 by Stephen Puleo. This is the true story of how a 50 foot high tank collapse sending a wave of 2.3 million gallons of molasses though Boston's North End killing 21 people and injuring many more (I wonder if anyone here has heard of this disaster)

Entirely Up to You, Darling - by Lord Richard Attenborough. I want to read this mainly to see what he tells of his childhood growing up with his brother, Sir David Attenborough.

Bought tickets to a Japanese baseball game with my friends. And I also paid my part for the next drinking party we're having at my school. I'm looking forward to exactly one of these two things, which is good enough for me.

 Yeah, I've been coveting my brother-in-law's Weber for the past 2 years, which is ultimately what got me to break down and buy one for myself.

If you listen very carefully, I think you might hear something ..., very feint ..., calling ... calling to you ....

Haaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnsssssssooooooonnnnnnnnn, it's saying ..., Haaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnsssssssooooooonnnnnnnnn ..., coooooommmmeeee tooooo theeee daaaaaaaaarrrrrrk siiiiiiiiiiiiiide. :p

Did you re-mortgage the house? Seriously, do you people have money to burn? My wife's credit cards are maxed out and I can't get one yet with a decent limit, so I can't even afford to buy the Pandigital Novel, a Nook, or a Kindle, let alone an iPad.

I find that the best way to have money is not to have credit cards. I save for what I need. At the moment I am saving to buy a new fridge which I should be able to buy in August.

Speaking of thrift--I found a poster-sized (24"x36") print of Edvard Munch's The Scream, framed under glass, for 25 dollars at a thrift store.

The frame and glass alone would probably cost at least 200 dollars new. I can't believe my luck.
