Samantha discovers that she is pregnant at Stardate 48921.3 which is Friday 3 December 2371. ("Elogium")
Naomi is born at Stardate 49548.7 which is Wednesday 19 July 2372. ("Deadlock"). 15 months after the arrival to the Delta Quadrant and the same amount of time after Neelix joined the crew.
Now that gives room for a lot of theories, doesn't it?
And why do I all of a sudden feel a shiver down my spine?
Note also that it looks like the relationship between Kes and Neelix really did begin to sour in the middle of season 2. Was it because Kes did find out
in some way, or........?

i'm intruiged by this thought that Talaxian sperm overrides Katarian. Consider if... have you ever played othello? (it's called "go" by some.) that iftalaxian sperm can refertilized already inseminated eggs that the characteristics ofone ovum can be murdered and replaced with the dna of a second suitor (haven't seen Mallrats in a decade.) or even the same at a later date... but this would fall in line with the Cuckoo approach to breeding that they have idiots warm and nurse their eggs for them, since the young grow up quickly to eat their adopted parents.
