I still think Clark was an ass for not saying "By the way, I Murdered your son last year"

Yeah...too bad Clark didn't kill him though. Fake Jimmy did.

Either way, I highly doubt that the Zod-clone we've known this past season had any idea about the son the real Zod and Feora had. The Feora that possessed Lois in S8 was an evil bitch - a stark contrast to the Feora-clone we met. So it stands to reason that their genetically engineered "son", was created after they'd had their DNA sampled by Jor-El, and had both become the evil gits that were eventually sent to the Phantom Zone.

I'm guessing that they created Davis because Feora as sterile...the real one that is remember that these are clones. They only possess the memories of the real Kandorians. So yes Servo is correct in suggesting that Zod and Feora weren't aware of their real counterparts...and the lives they led after that time of their lives.

In the flash back to krypton this season, Zod said "my kids dead, could you make a clone please?"

That had to be a Doomsday reference since he was sent to earth along with the rest of the artifacts and Clark seen in the tied into a neat little bow episode... You know except that the "stones" arrived hundreds of years ago.

Jimmy killed Davis?

Wow, I probably make up half the shit I think I remember about Smallville because my brain keeps partitioning off it's bad sectors.

I can't quite remember the exact scene you're referring to, but still, he may have made the request then, but the actual cloning/genetic engineering didn't happen til after that, so the Zod-clone still wouldn't have known about it.

Doomsday was courtesy of The General Zod, the one whose spirit possessed Lex, not Self-Appointed-General Zod-Clone.

Chloe split Doomsday and Davis apart. Clark buried Doomsday underground someplace. Elsewhere, Davis stabbed Jimmy in a fit of rage over Chloe. Davis was about to kill Chloe, but Jimmy was able to shove him into a pile of spiked pipes or wood or something, killing him.

It was in "Kandor". During the flashback, Zod had some hair or something from his son and wanted Jor-El to find a way to bring him back through cloning (since Jor-El had the know-how with the orb and all). Jor-El refused and Zod declared that he was dead to him. This, of course, then led Zod to develop it himself years later, resulting in Doomsday.

Not a great finale, but I LOVED! the opening sequence from 2013. It was one of the best scenes in the whole series. They crammed in everything I wanted to see Smallville develop into. A two-minute Superman short is what it was. And as an added bonus, it looked very retro.

What was it's significance? It didn't seem connected to anything in the episode.

I laughed at the second promo where, at the end, we hear a voice saying "Look, up in the sky!" followed by a few bars of the John Williams theme giving the impression that Clark is going to fly.

How much does anyone want to bet that this will not be the case?
I actually thought they'd surprise us and he'd finally do it.

Clark has the book of RAO...I am wondering what the gift from Martha is??? \S/uit???
:(
The predictions around here are always good.

4 pages already? Well, I'm unspoiled anyway.
You didn't set your page view to 40 posts?

2013? Guess the world didn't end...
My thoughts exactly.

Just a dream?
I thought the same thing. What was it? I thought it was a prophetic vision, but it looks like it was just a scene tacked on that segued into Clark waking up. Like I said, what was it's significance?

I still maintain that Callum Blue reminds me of a demented version of Doctor Who.
I can see that.

Insert tasteless comment about Chloe's Foxhole.
That reminds me... Megan Fox turned 24 today.

Ah, damn it! I like Tess! Even if she survives, she's going to be but ugly. Bah! :scream:
I actually thought she was still pretty hot.

Tess- I had a name in internal affairs....
***Insert tasteless comment about Tess' internal affairs.***

Just tell her the fucking truth, you gigantic douche!
Yeah, why didn't he? More of the same.

Decent enough episode. I read soemwhere there would eb a big clue about the villian for next season.
As soon as I heard "Apokolips", well...

...Lo looking like Sarah Palin...
I've thought for a long time that she looks and sounds like a young Sarah Palin.

Granny Goodness means Darkseid most likely...she'll pave the way for him to arrival. I'm surprised they didn't use Desaad.
Just thought of Matt Frewer as Desaad.

yeah.... did I miss that in the episode or did they pull some ironman 2 stunt and show us scenes not in the film...
Looked like they did. I remember seeing Tess in a hooded cloak or something.

And I just found out Rosenbaum will NEVER RETURN
Too bad. I hope they twist his arm or he changes his mind.

Didn't Clark impale himself on the knife, so he could get it away from Zod? That was my impression anyway.
Looked that way.

She said 'Clark' after he sped off, I took that as her figuring the whole thing out at last.
I figured that she wasn't going to figure it out based on the kiss, then they surprised me.

So now everyone agreed that it was Granny Goodness and that Darkseid is coming, who do you want in the roles?

I vote for Betty White and Tony Todd.
I like the Ving Rhames suggestion. Ving Rhames in a blue suit. :p

As for Granny, I've thought for a while now that Joy Behar would make a great live-action version of her. Never thought we'd ever see a live-action version though.

She'd actually be perfect for Smallville. Then again, so would Betty White.

so both the major and the general remember briefly raising and loving the same child who died.

Davis was a clone of someone he once knew.

Almost everyone Zod knew on earth was a clone of some one he once knew, and all of his feelings and expectations towards these clones were predicated by the zod template driving his personality.

That bollocks aside.

this is wat I thought was going to happen...

All the kandorians and Clark would go to a new world, which turned out to be a parallel earth where clark could step into the shoes of that earth's clark Kent and become Superman.

Second thought.

Lois doesn't wear glasses for show in the future. Some accident robbed her of 80 percent of her vision, which is why she doesn't recognize Superman as Clark Kent.

I loved the episode. Much better than last year. It seemed obvious to me that Clark impaled himself on the blue K dagger and Zod seemed genuinely surprised at the sacrifice. What made it even better was seeing Clark fight even though the blue K took away his powers.
The opening scenes were awesome but the best for me was seeing Clark haul off and punch Zod not once but twice. I was like, "Finally! Clark's kicking some ass!".

^Clark's shown that he's pretty handy in a fight even without powers.

And besides, all those muscles he likes to "accidentally" show off all the time aren't just for show.

2013 I think was nothing more than a set up for what the writers plan to do for next season...there is an article on the first or second page of this thread that stated I think this was something the writers want to play around with next year but I agree that it was pretty much unconnected with the main story and yes Beeman posted on his blog that they wanted to do a retro "Superman The Movie" type of feel which I guess is why Lois is wearing those ridiculous Sarah Palin glasses.

The whole Kandorian clone storyline was silly this season...as has been stated before it's bascially their take on the New Krypton storyline going on in the comics. Zod, Feora and maybe two or three more clones would have been a suitable threat for Clark to deal with. We could have had this wrapped up at mid season and focused on the the true threat which would have been Checkmate and the coming war against Apokolips.

Which reminds of something I never figured out: Was the Davis half of Doomsday Kryptonian?

And just to clarify what I think Guy was wondering, the Zod clone was from blood taken at the same time as that battle we saw, when they were all younger. Jor El then made the clones from that blood years later. So Zod and Fedora hadn't had the baby yet.

And interesting twist on this, if Fedora had been pregant when cloned, her clone wouldn't have a baby inside.

^Fedora ?

The last thing any of the Kandorians remembered was Jor-El taking their blood samples. Presumably the cloning technology has some sort of genetic memory component to it.

The Doomsday business, Zod's "vessel" and Faora becoming a Phantom all happened after that.

I didn't see if it was mentioned earlier in the thread, but I thought I'd point out that this episode we finally saw Superman. The whole deal. Cape, tights, red shorts and boots, the whole deal.

Am I delusional? Nope. And I am not talking about the present Martha left that contained the suit.

If you go frame by frame during Clark's dream sequence you will see it. He is reflected off the Daily Planet globe. You see him first fly up from the building with an arm stretched upwards, then the red cape flashes by the screen hiding the reflection. As it passes though you see him continue upwards in the sphere's reflection. You see the biplane headed straight towards it, and then Superman streaks past the camera too fast to clearly see. But you can make out his red and blue costume and see his blurry red chest S-shield.

Not good enough? There's more.

As you see the biplane turn up and away, on the belly of the plane you can see a non-blurry Superman carrying it. Blue tights, yellow belt, red trunks, boots and cape. The whole deal. Sure, it is CGI and not really Tom Welling in the suit. But it WAS Superman! On Smallville! We finally saw it! I wish I could recast my vote, because this alone would have bumped the entire episode up a notch.

I have to wonder if that 2013 scene was really filmed in case there was no Season 10. It would have been a perfect end to the series. At least perfect for the writers, maybe not so much for us.

The flash forward does bring up and interesting point: About the only thing this Supes will have to do is save wayward biplanes and rescue kittens from tress because he'll have thwarted his entire rogues' gallery before he even becomes Superman.

Super detailed Superman CGI model.

Yeah I think it even looked like Welling, as weird as that sounds.

Oh wow I missed that but there he is indeed! As I mentioned before i think the 2013 thing is something the writers are going to play around with next season and they have had alternate endings planned in case the show has not been renewed at least since the writer's strike...in fact they had a series finale planned for season seven or eight which I was really hoping we'd see but the darn show got renewed :) I missed Lois's ring I'll have to go back and view it.

Well, aside from Lex Luthor being President, of course . . . .
