^ Nope, all the space dock footage was brand new. You never see the Enterprise move around in the space dock in TVH. Plus, TUC's space dock footage has a bluer tint to it.
Some of that sequence was definitely reused footage from TVH.
The question isn't about cropping or "blue-filter"-ing, Trekker. The question is about whether or not footage was reused. Clearly in this case, even if the footage had been reused, it was markedly altered for the next film.

Well, I agree. I, for one, have little trouble with reusing footage. I don't think anything could've been gained by filming a whole new shot of the BoP being blown up. Now sure making it a BoP rather than new-class of Klingon vessel just so they could reuse the footage is a bit shady, but whatever you work on a budget you do what you can. I mean it's far worse to me how the TMP beauty-shots were re-used in TWOK esp. considering in TMP the pod docks in the primary-hull port and in the TWOK the pod docks at the same port but Kirk enters fromt he torpedo docking port. Both have very different looks on the outside of the ship.
The exit also has all of the same shots, including the guy "waving bye" but, pretty much, I don't care. Again, budgets and all.
As said above them reusing the BoP shot is peanuts compared to the real problems with this movie.
So write one.

WRONG.
Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home
Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country
Note: The markedly more blue-ish tones in the cap from TUC as well as the very obvious presence of Excelsior in the foreground of the screencap from TVH.

SOME of the sequence, like approaching the doors, was filmed for TSFS. I don't give a rip about the differences in the frakking processing, some of the elements, maybe even most of the elements, were initially filmed for earlier films.
So write one.
I would except it would be pointless other than a personal project to show in general that an inexperienced writer could do better than them![]()

I guess I just don't understand the logic behind constantly bitching and complaining about the same faults of a sixteen year old movie when, if you could so easily "do better than them" you haven't done so.
Then again, the burden of proving that you could, in fact "do better than them" rests solely on you. And as you seem uninterested in providing any actual example of it, well, that makes it really hard to take your assertion seriously; on the contrary it just becomes easier to assume you are just another OCD die-hard Trekkie blowhard more obsessed with being right than anything else and simply because you say so.
Just a theory though. I myself would welcome the opportunity to read your script for Star Trek Generations, if and when it becomes available.
