Survivor 20:Hero's vs Villians, live comentary

This season has been so good with the best yet to come..if they go back to another 'amature' show next fall, I wonder if it will suffer in the ratings?

By the way, I think I know who should replace Jeff...Russell. The guy would be great at the end trying to get people to talk before the vote..and he has the streed cred now.

Rob

I'm watching Coach's Ponderosa videos. He is soooo freaking insane. I'm actually kind of glad he was the first person there...He's even crazier when left to himself for a long time (no one else to bring him back to reality).

Edit:

Russell in the tribal council voting on cbs' website: "This is supposed to be a vote that I just throw off. I hope it works."

So, he is thinking about jury votes! He's probably also thinking about keeping Jerri under his wing, though.

Apparently, Jerri was the only one in Russell's alliance who thought Courtney was going home.

Parvati: "What do you call the person who slays the dragon-slayer? I don't know. Why don't you go home, do some tai-chi, and get back to me on that one?" Ouch.

Russel is his same cocky self...

Nice with the Villains causing two Hero's injuries. Looks like this could be a good outing.

I'm still hoping that Russel will WIN this season; since he was robbed from title last season.

True. Though, I like the idea floated up thread of Russell as a potential replacement as host for Jeff should he decide to leave. He's got the survivor street cred, and I don't think he'd have any problems pushing buttons in the tribal councils. Plus he's shown a genuine love, respect, and understanding for the game of survivor.

Even though I can't stand Coach, it was pretty stupid to vote him out. The Villians are getting absolutely worked and to keep rail thin Courtney or dumpy Sandra around was a huge mistake. I don't see a merge happening for at least another 2 weeks.

I find the analytical processes of the Heroes to be pretty lacking if they automatically think it's a girl alliance on the other side without considering other alternatives. Could be their downfall, who knows.

No, they aren't. This basically comes down to Russell and Parvati overruling Danielle in that they are pushing the all girls alliance and the fact that Coach is the first jury member makes it even more likely that there is a merge next episode.

Also, while I normally would 100% agree with the "ignore the promo" mantra I got a feeling that this just might be one case where they actually follow through on giving a pretty accurate promo. The heroes aren't the brightest bulbs on the tree and I could see them running right to Russell to to try and "pick up his vote" against what they see as an all girl alliance that they would have to contend with. They have NO CLUE about what Russell is really like. None whatsoever and Russell set that "Russell Seed" as Probst likes to say and JT and Rupert, certainly no candidates for the Mensa club, I could easily see falling for it.

No. Coach should get that job. :D

I have to say I'm liking JT's game play. It will be interesting if he hitches up with Russell to see what happens.

What I would really love to see is the show institute a "team mentor" position. A famous player from the past who sits in with non "all star" tribes, who isn't playing the game. That could be interesting and add a whole new level to the game.

That, or a team survivor. where you have six or seven four person teams going against each other.

Yep..good idea. I think the current formula is out dates. I would have three tribes, when the amatures come back. Three tribes of seven. And when someone is voted off, the other two tribes can bid to keep that person; the cost? Someone on their tribe must go...

And raise the damn reward to 2 million..geee CBS. How cheap can you be?

Rob

Yeah, I understand the need to keep the top prize at a million when we're talking about a prize or two each episode, but season long network reality competition shows should have bigger ending prizes.

Agreed on the cheapness of the prize for what people go through.

ANd I like some of those mix ups-- an interesting twist: the member you vote off this week appears on the other tribe's roster the next day. MWA HA HA!!!

The guy is a freaking idol magnet. He should sell that note on e-bay. I bet it would fetch a tidy sum.

...either that or frame it... That note was hilarious.

Next week should be interesting. I suppose the most likely scenario is the heroes getting blindsided a bit. Though I don't know, with allies like Parvati maybe he should flip!

Parvati is going to win this now...she's gonna flash Russel some 'boobs and pubes" and he's going to fall for it. Russel will make it to the final four then be voted off...

Rob

No, there is nothing sexual between Russell and Parvati. But it was a good episode for her, she definitely came out way ahead. I really can't predict who of the two is going to prevail, although of course if both are in the finals it's clearly going to be Parvati.

I'm watching the secret scenes that were just posted. It sounds like everything is coming together for Russell:

1) J.T. assumes that if Parvati survives tribal council it's because Parvati played the villain's immunity idol (keeping both Russell alive via the Heroes immunity idol and Parvati alive via the villains immunity idol)

2) Russell is planning to explain away Parvati's survival by using the very scenario outlined above--He is going to say that Sandra is a liar and that she's pissed that her best friend (Courtney) got voted out and that Russell is fine with Courtney being gone as Courtney was the #2 threat

3) The Heroes are already planning to send Sandra home first post-merge, so that will make them even more suspect of anything Sandra says about Russell being in charge.

Apparently, Amanda was hoping to swing Courtney and Parvati over to play with her, Candice, and Colby (as either a plan A or a plan B--not sure which). She wants J.T. gone badly and thinks Rupert will follow J.T. where J.T. leads.

Of course, we have to keep pointing out that Parvati is in the best position of the bunch.
