Uncomfortable Plot Summaries Game!

Truth_Seeker

Lieutenant Commander
Red Shirt
I've read some of those in other forums and I think it could be a very amusing thing to do.

Here are some of my ideas for uncomfortable Sci-Fi plot summaries:

"Dune" - A civilization of drug addicts kill each other like animals for the position of Chief Drug Dealer.

"Babylon 5" - A dirty five miles long tin can that serves as a gathering point for the scum of the galaxy.

"Alien" - The eating habits of the human spawned xenomorph.

"Iron Man" - A spoiled billionaire violates foreign air space and risks starting a war because he wanted to beat up some bad guys.

"Independence Day" - A very advanced space faring alien race is defeated by a simple cavemen computer virus.

;)

Any other ideas, anyone?

"Star Wars (ANH)": A bunch of revolutionaries destroy a military installation in a bid to topple the government. A guy falls in love with his own sister.

Alternate Star Wars summary: Disaffected teenager is is inducted into religious cult by old man with history of violence, who tells lies about the youth's father. Later the teenager destroys a government installation and kills millions of workers whilst listening to the voices in his head.

Okay, I like your version better.

Carrying on, then:
"ESB": Disaffected youth is attacked by a monster in a sequence which has nothing to do with the rest of the film except to explain why the actor is scarred from a car accident. Later, he undergoes training in the religious cult by another old man with a history of violence (who tells more lies about his father). The teacher tells him the main villain is too powerful and will probably kick his butt (not lying for once). He goes after the main villain, who is too powerful and kicks his butt.

Meanwhile, his friends are attacked by a military force. Improbably, the enemy kicks their butts despite the total lack of surprise on the enemy's side, and despite a reliance on bounty hunters instead of black ops, mysticism instead of intel, spindly-legged, fragile walking machines that can easily be outrun or knocked over, and a commander with a penchant for killing his own officers.

"Babylon 5" - A dirty five miles long tin can that serves as a gathering point for the scum of the galaxy.

A group of unruly child-races prone to fighting among themselves, engaging in any number of near-genocides, racial blood-feuds, civil wars and revolutions and who cannot bring themselves to trust one another, reject the guidence of their elders, refuse to follow the rules or recognise authority and stubbornly declare themselves masters of their own destiny. They tell their parents to get lost and almost immediately continue with the in-fighting. This is a good thing ;)

"The Matrix" - A bunch of confused people with funny names want to destroy their perfect virtual simulation because for some reason they prefer to live in the dark, polluted and hostile environment of the real world. :)

Superbad: Two teenage boys hatch a plot to commit date rape and eventually admit their feelings for each other.

The Wizard Of Oz: "Transported to a surreal landscape, a young girl kills the first person she meets and then teams up with three strangers to kill again."

"Artificial Intelligence" - A supposedly smart piece of equipment is unable to compute that it's impossible to turn into a human child.

Transformers: Alien robot with speech impediment helps socially-maladjusted dork to score with unfeasibly hot chick whilst aiding band of alien warriors to destroy a mid-sized city in the guise of fighting evil alien warriors. Dork murders alien.

GI Joe: The Rise of Cobra: Arms dealer attempts to blackmail NATO and undermine US gorvernment in the name of peace. International military force fights Arms dealers' brainwashed gunmen and his equally brainwashed hot girlfriend, destroying the Eiffel Tower in the process.

King Kong - Humans invade nature preserve, killing many animals. Poaches last surviving giant ape, displays it as showpiece at exhibition. When confused and frightened ape escapes captivity and reconnects with the only human who hasn't abused him, he is gunned down.

"Tranformers 2: Revenge Of The Fallen" - The dork is back, the chick is back and the aliens are back, which results in a cinema full of happy kids, sleeping moms and disappointed dads who were hoping to see the chick topless. ;)

Star Trek - TMP: The Enterprise flys into a huge space cloud. No one notices.

Star Trek – The Wrath of Khan: A man seeks justice against the military commander who caused the death of his wife. The military commander's negligence and disrespect for regulations gets several of his subordinates, including his best friend, killed.
