Absolutely loved it. Moffat has delivered, and it satisfies.
Seriously, i loved every minute of it.
From the opening credits with the new cloudy vortex and 70s meets Danny Elfman theme, oh and lightening bolts. To the first scene where The Doctor climbs out of the Tardis soaking wet from the swimming pool that is in the library, then craving an apple and hating it, then being fed bacon, then beans, bread and butter, and the best part fish fingers and custard. FABULOUS.
Smith was everything i had hoped for as The Doctor. Erratic, random, touchingly emotional, creepy, eccentric and stern all that the same time.
That face of his just emulates everything at once, hes fab.
The meeting of Amelia and then the grown up Amy was brilliant. The time jumps without realising it, but who would after almost destroying the Tardis and then running about trying to fix it then returning in what seems like 5 minutes that turns out to be 12 years, then naffing off after hes saved the world to come back 2 years later by mistake instead of 2 minutes later after giving the repaired Tardis a shakedown around the moon.
The Doctor coming to terms with his change was great though, and i was pleased that Moffat didnt drag out the regen like RTD did with the Christmas Invasion, The Doctor just keeps going and going until he clicks back into place and bvecomes The Doctor, walking through the hologram of David Tennant that was also of all the previous Doctors. FAB.
And again Moffat strikes gold by creeping out all the kids in the world with a spot in your house that you are always afraid to look in, just in the corner of your eye. I had a spot like that in my house at the top of our stairs when i was a kid, so its still creepy even to me. CLASSIC.
Its just Matt Smith, wow. I cant think of anything to say short of BRILLIANTLY ACTED.
The Doctor is mad, and so is Matt. It works.
Didnt expect the outfit selection to be in the hospital locker room though, a bit too TV Movie there, but non the less, when hes talking to the Atraxi and selecting a tie, just randomly veering off about the tie, then strait back to the conversation was great.
"Lokk at you, not even scared. Box falls out the sky, man falls out of box, man eats fish custard. That must be a helluva crack in your wall."
