I don't get the Captain Robau Love

Robau is better than Mr. Clean. Robau can disinfect and cleanse a countertop by simply looking at it. All germs and bacteria die within nanoseconds.

Robau is popular in part because of Faran Tahir, whom I think most of us in here have seen interviewed on TV in the past couple of years for both TREK and other projects. The man comes off as seriously down-to-earth, happy and approachable and he's a good enough character actor to imbue Robau will that right mix of badass and heroic. I think he'll continue to be a cult figure within the TREK mythos in part because the man playing him is so neat and nice.

In the other thread, the Man (Mr. Tahir) himself checked in and thanked us after marvelling at what had been wrought.

I get the impression it's pretty much a joke, especially since Captain Pike did exactly the same stuff as Robau in the film, was a more important character and survived to boot. Anyway, I don't doubt the guy was pretty badass, but he can't equal Star Trek's all time most badass captain: Captain Edward Jellico.

^ He did? Show us!
Well he does know about the Captain Robau thread (someone asked him about it in a red-carpet interview at the Los Angeles premiere of the movie) but he never actually posted here.

The "message"

The explanation (video from the premiere is there, too)

Terrell doesn't have his own comic book.

'Nuff said.

Man...I feel this supreme burst of awesomeness-nirvana just looking at that cover!

Here's hopin' the story itself can top even that--

Wait. With His Awesomeness, we don't have to submit to such idiotic notions as "hope". Or "change", for that matter, because The Robau shall always be The Robau--and NOTHING--do you hear me, NOTHING--can change that!

But at any rate: I wonder if one installment in the series shall be the legend Mr. Laser Beam, Hartzilla, and yours truly have revealed for all to see, and marvell at the invincible Awesomeness of The Robau!!!

I sense some unnecessary digs here, especially considering that Robau changed the notion of what a Starfleet captain should be.

Actually Robau is more badass than Jellico. When Robau tells his first officer to do something George DID IT!

Or at least try to in instances when the ship doesn't want to cooperate

I wish Faran Tahir WOULD become a member of the BBS in his spare time and spend at least a few days off-and-on looking at the boards. We've had other TREK celebs do so in the past and we didn't even start memes about most of them so far as I recall!:techman:

Not only did Robau's first officer follow his orders, in the process he became a bad-ass in his own right. Seriously.

I watched the movie a long time after everyone else and when Captain Robau died I thought that can't be his only appearance since he has a multitude of threads dedicated to him. I guess all the hype ruined it for me. :p

Yes! Thus creating a bad-ass domino effect.
