And then the neck was done.

Here's an example of how i've been doing my spec maps for a while :You might think about throwing some more texture on the spec and bump maps. Give it a little grit and imperfections. Even just a procedural overlay would be a nice touch.
D'oh! I'll fix that right away.Looking good, but it's bothering me that the name of the ship is upside-down while the registry number is rightside-up.
I see what you're saying, but I don't think I'll change it yet. There are quite a few small panels on the secondary hull too; I think Judexavier's intention was that they were all covers over various things. What I was thinking, is that each of those larger sections come off in one large piece, with the smaller panels covering up the equivalent of "bots" that hold the covers on. Does that make sense?Just my humble opinion, but I'm not sure about some of those smaller panels on the underside of the saucer. They'd look fine on a larger ship, but as it is they're smaller than the portholes! The juxtaposition of these different elements just seems a little odd.
BTW - the topside of the saucer is fab - both familiar and completely original!

OK, fixed the font. After RoJoHen mentioned it, it was driving me nuts.I see what you're saying, but I don't think I'll change it yet. Gorgeous! Wonderful! I want to do a TV show now!
I guess we need a Klingon or Romulan
You know it just occurred to me that I completely forgot to consider any weaponry...oh except for that brief "deflectors as weapons" notion. I guess they could be hidden under some of those panels.
Wonderful job, Madman.
