NEW trailer!

While I'm disappointed that the Cybus design of the Cybermen is being used again, I'm hoping against hope that because of the way the Cyberman is moving (reaching out and swaying as opposing to stomping around) that it's a Mondasian Cyberman and not a Cybus Cyberman.

It's swaying around cos it has only got one arm...

I'm really looking forward to...
the WWII episode where the Daleks pretend to work for Churchill (a la Power of the Daleks), complete with classic series Dalek design and a ton of zeppelins in the sky. :D
Those are barrage balloons, not zeppelins - same thing Rose gets hung up on in The Empty Child.

It's there to look "eccentric". Like all the other junk they've stuck on it.

At least with the previous version the excuse was that the Doctor had to rebuild the console himself out of whatever he could use. This time it rebuilds itself looking like that.

Fine with me. I like eccentric.

I don't get why some fans want to go back to the hi-tech metallic spaceship look of the classic show. That never seemed to fit the personality of the show very well, and the Doctors usually stuck out like a sore thumb in there.

It was pretty cool. I'm a little concerned by just how little weight Matt Smith's voice was carrying, though. The actual speech was awesome, but his projection of it wasn't very strong at all.

Huh, I didn't even notice that. :o

I'm still shamelessly hoping against hope...

I stand corrected.

^^ Respectfully disagree. I think he carried it just as well as Tennett could have.

I agree with your disagreement. I also agree with those noting how Pertwee-ish Smith is both in how he carries himself and speaks. According to a DWM interview with Moffat, Smith was absolutely blown away by the Troughton story Tomb of the Cybermen, which suggests we may see a bit of an influence there, too.

Excellent trailer. And it sounds like it confirms the rumors that Karen is staying Scottish for the show (yay!). I still expect fandom to be split when the episode airs, but I expect at this point people will warm quickly to Smith the way most fans warmed almost instantly to Catherine "Lauren Cooper will destroy Doctor Who" Tate two years ago!

That trailer's much more like it. I was feeling quite down on the new series recently, but that's cheered me up. That Dalek episode looks/sounds great. Really hope Gatiss delivers.

Seems like in every tv spot I hear a different Doctor. Davison in the clip in the garden, and in this one I can almost hear the voiceover in the trailer coming out of Sylvester McCoys mouth.

Only just had a proper look at the console. Not such a fan of that. I was hoping for something more in line with the TV movie, where's this looks big and ugly.

Good to see a Dalek that isn't golder than a blinged-up chav. And the way that Cyberman moves actually manages to look sinister. Whether that's just down to it being a bit mutilated or a change in style (if not appearance), we won't know until we see. Could do without Any floating outside the Tardis like she's Peter Pan though.

We're still not definite on what the Doctor will be like though. Most previous indications seemed to imply an uglier David Tennant impersonator, whereas I'd still hope for something akin to an older man in a young man's body (which is what the Doctor is, really).

Everything looked epic and excellent. Let the haters hate, this is going to rule. :techman:

We get England.....IN SPACE!!!. Buildings with county names.

Yorkshire, Kent, Surrey, Devon and Essex.

Alright, it looks cool, but I have to declare that I can't hear half the words the Doctor is saying! I can hear Amy crisp and clear, but they need to work on his microphone volume because he sounds like Doctor Mumbles!

See, that's what I was talking about in my criticism. I didn't even notice the Doctor was talking until the very end on my first viewing.

Nah, let's hope we never see the Mondasian Cybermen again.
