Foreign language translations of ST novels

Does anyone have a list of what Star Trek novels were translated into what languages, and what the titles in translation are?

I am particularly hoping to score a copy of Betrayal (DS9 #6) in Spanish (I know, I'll probably have to eBay it), but I'd love to see what all is out there.

Here in Germany all ST-Novels up to the mid-nineties were translated, usually with a delay between one and two years and using the same cover-art as the US-Version. Then the popularity shifted away from the SF in general towards more Tolkien-style Fantasy, with the result that the publishers reduced their SF-programs, especially Star Trek was hit quite hard. The number of translated novels was reduced each year, the only books that sold well to justify the translation were the Shatnerverse-novels. After the translation of "Captain's Glory" the german publisher, Heyne, cancelled the ST-novels completely. In 2008, a new publisher, Cross Cult, which did primarily high-priced hardcover graphic novels at that time, started to reanimate Star Trek with the Translation of the first three Vanguard books. The start was quite successful and they slowly expanded the program through 2009 with Titan, the TNG-Relaunch and the DS9-Relaunch and some Comic-omnibuses. In late 2009 they increased the novel-number to one per month plus comic-books and occasional specials. The next big project they're starting is Destiny, starting in June.
They're also starting to use new Cover-arts (Especially for the TNG-Relaunch), created a Facebook-community and a Twitter-Feed and started pools in their Board to see in which series the audience would be interested in. So overall, you can say, that here in Germany, Trek is back on course with a publisher doing a far better work than all previous publishers combined.

Thanks for that link. It's great to see that Star Trek-novels
are hitting German shelves again.

I have a friend that would love TITAN but isn't so great in
reading Englisch. So I'll get him the first German novels for
his birthday.

Anyone got a comprehensive list of what's available for Spanish? Please don't tell me to just use Google...I apparently had trouble finding the correct search terms, or understanding my results when I tried to run a Spanish search--one of the two. One of the reasons I am trying to search this is that I need to improve my Spanish.

I actually posted the "Bond" cover there, which they only had on the separate site for the novels at that time, and more and more people began to post negative comments about it.

I know that Provenance of Shadows has been published in the Czech Republic, and that they had plans to print the entire Crucible trilogy.

Are there any spanish Star Trek Fan-clubs? If so, and if they have a Board online, you could try to get some help there. Another idea would be to contact the publishers directly, but I wouldn't be too optimistic, because answering that would most likely end in a lot of work with no profit for the company.
When I started to collect Trek-books I had the same problem, so started some research and created my own Excel-sheet, which I'm still using and updating regularly. Just in case, somebody is interested in it, just send me an PM.

No, unfortunately I don't work for them. On occasion I (And the other Lit guys from www.trekzone.de, a german Trek-Fan-page give them some advices), for example the german title of "Before Dishonor" ("Heldentod", literally "Death of a Hero", a translation of "Before Dishonor" would have sounded quite strange in german) was my idea, we're cooperating on interviews with the authors and stuff like that.

I know that Provenance of Shadows has been published in the Czech Republic, and that they had plans to print the entire Crucible trilogy.

I tried to convince the new Publisher to do a german version of Crucible, but given the fact that an english text usually grows by around 30% when translated into german, it was considered too expansive so far. But I won't give up

Do you have any of the Spanish books on your list?

Anyway, I did go to a site I read in Spanish called (surprise surprise) Cardassia Primera, which has just opened up a forum, and I posted in it. Looks like the forum is still JUST getting started, though, so it may be awhile until I get an answer.

If anyone else happens to have a list of the Trek books translated into Spanish, and their titles in translation, that would be great!

(The site itself, though, RULES...great for a Cardassian fan like me!)

Well, French isn't a foreign language here, but for Americans it'd count. As far as I know, Trek publishing in French was doing fairly well in the '90s with a lot of Pocket's TOS and TNG novels being translated in France, but those seemed to come to an end several years ago. A company in Quebec did a run of maybe half a dozen each of DS9 and Voyager novels about ten years ago. Amazon.fr shows some new stuff, though: the new movie novelization and some IDW Trek comic collections.
