iMacs - What do you think?

They're solid machines, and Snow Leopard is decent. I'm happily computing away on a Windows based system again, but in the future, if I had the money, I would certainly consider an Apple again.
Wait until those machines are updated again, as of now, there is a widespread problem with yellow tint screens and screen flickering, which hasn't been fixed by the two firmware updates Apple has issued.
There is a rumour, that it might get fixed this months, as Apple seems to have halted the production of those machines, but Apple denies that.

The all-in-one design is not for me. I am biased since I am using a dual monitor setup and do a lot of incremental upgrading.

I very much like my 24" 2007 iMac and Snow Leopard. I hear the 27" screens have been a little problematic but if I was in the market for a computer now, they would almost definitely be my first choice.
The new iMacs are gorgeous, but as others have already stated, some consumers are having trouble with the displays, so I'd wait a bit to make sure the issue has been completely corrected. I'm not currently running Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro (I'm still using Leopard) but I haven't heard any real negative things about it.
I love Snow Leopard and my iMac (3.5 years old though it may be).
Don't know what my next Mac will be. Probably either another iMac (assuming they get the display problems worked out) or a MacBook Air. I wish they would make an iMac without a drive, like the Air.

Overpriced for what you get.
I'd rather pay a slight premium for a machine which I know will work the way I want it to, and which runs an OS I can actually use.
There's undoubtedly a premium beyond that for the look as well, but that's part of why I bought my iMac and there's nothing particularly wrong with an aesthete when it comes to something pretty conspicuous in your house.
I have a Dell machine running Windows XP. Never has given me any problems whatsoever. Works "the way I want it to" and the OS is certainly "one I can use."
If you have a Windows machine and can't use it, I blame the user not the machine.
I just tried to create a Dell tower as close to a 27" iMac's specs as I could.
iMac: $1,999
Dell: $2,206
Go ahead and try to do better if you can, obviously the Dell site can be customized a million ways.
Just remember that you have to scrounge up $207 worth of savings before you just break even. So have fun with that project. I'll wait to see what you come up with.
EDIT: Here's a head start. This is the $1,100 Dell monitor you need to start with.
27" screen?! Who the hell needs a 27" screen?!
Someone who's honestly trying to build a spec-for-spec equivalent system so he can try and prove his claim of "overpriced for what you get."

Actually, a 27" screen would be awesome.
^ And with the new iMacs, it's actually in 16:9 this time.
Sigh. Yes. I realize that.
My question is why one would need a 27" screen period, even on the iMac.
Short of doing video editing, crazy 3D work or stuff like 27" strikes me as "too big." My 19" monitor I almost find too big sometimes.
