Top Gear New Series

No idea, I don't know shit about cars, but it reminded me of some of the cars from Need for Speed Underground. ;)

I've got to admit over that I want the lexus Hammond was driving. I know it's over priced and not worth it but god damn it looked nice.

I know that the cars bad, the badge is bad, nothing under the bodywork is worth the money but I was sat watching it going round thinking, god I want one of them. Lol

It was a beautiful car, it certainly didn't need glasses to look sexy. You'd want to be dumb as a goat if you actually wanted to buy one, though.

Jeremy's comment about getting a new reasonably priced car was interesting; if they're planning on restarting the board it suggests that they're probably planning on keeping the show going for a few more years. Andy Wilman's comment a few weeks ago about landing the show gracefully had some people thinking the show was on its last legs, but I can't see them restarting the board if there's only a year or two left in it.

^The only thing he said was that it was logical that the show had less years in front of it than behind. That's it. It's been running in its current incarnation for years and years now, they might run it for 3-5 years more if they continue to enjoy themselves and the show gets ratings.

It can't be doing so bad. Other than some internet comments I've never once met anyone who expressed dislike about the show over the last 2 years or so.

It was voted Best TV show of the Decade for a reason after all.

I think after series 12 James and Richard signed a two year contract so i guess we get up to series 16 at least.
I supposed it depends on how long Clarkson's dicky back and hip hold out.

The quote I was referring to was this:

It’s fair to say this incarnation of Top Gear is nearer the end than the beginning, and our job is to land this plane with its dignity still intact.
He doesn't say the show is under any imminent threat of ending, but his mind is clearly thinking about the ending of the show and the legacy it leaves behind. Yes, the show could run for five more years, but when that was originally posted some in the media took it as a suggestion that the show would be ending sooner rather than later.

I know that's the quote, but if anyone in the media takes that to mean "Top Gear is on it's last legs" they're just being sensationalist.

The media is stupid and only interested in causing a commotion, that is all.

Daily fail thinks they are going to make top gear the movie.
I think its bullshit but if it did happen i do think the Camera crew are good enough to win a Oscar for there cinematography.

"The page you have requested does not exist or is no longer available."
Here is what was said.
There is no stopping the whirlwind that is Top Gear.
After recently being named the nation's favourite TV programme of the decade, BBC motoring show Top Gear is set to take its success to the next level - by releasing a movie. (...)
Clarkson, Hammond and May will attempt to drive around the world in the oldest, most unreliable cars they can find in a task already being dubbed 'Around The World in 80 Cars'.
Wonder if they have pulled the story because i have discovered that the a idea for a TG film using the 80 days around the world idea was posed on another board in 2007

Wonder if the DM has been lazy and got caught out?

Given the source it's probably not true, but I'd pay to see a feature length (~2 hour) challenge driving across some exotic location. Even so, I'm not entirely sure how they could top the various specials they've done aside from fleshing them out a bit more or spreading the scope (e.g., the Around the World in 80 Days idea).

I'm not sure many others would though, which makes this rumor iffy at best considering they'd only do so if they could make money off of it.

I recently read that idea today as well, it's a shame it's not true as I think it could have worked.
As for topping thei9r last run on specials, after the last one I don't think they're going to or even really try. That's not to say that they will simply give up, but that the specials from now on will be about the same level. See crossing the Australian outback next crimbo.
